Compare fixed internet rates in Vietnam and the world

(Dan Tri) - With an average price of only 8.87 USD (233,000 VND) for one month of use, Vietnam is one of the countries with the cheapest fixed Internet rates in Asia in particular and the world in general.

The Internet has become popular all over the world , but the price of Internet service is currently very different in countries around the world.

Numbeo - a company that researches and compares the cost of living, services and quality of life in hundreds of countries - has conducted a survey of fixed-line internet service prices in more than 100 countries and territories.

Vietnam is one of the countries with the cheapest fixed internet rates in the world and the lowest in Southeast Asia (Illustration: Internet).

Numbeo's data is collected from more than 1,000 fixed-line internet service providers in 127 countries and territories.

The average monthly internet prices in the countries reported by Numbeo are calculated by averaging the prices from service providers and are converted from local currency to USD for easy comparison.

According to Numbeo's research, Cuba is the country with the most expensive average internet rates, with users in this country spending an average of $225.88 per month for fixed-line internet.

The remaining names in the top 5 countries with the most expensive fixed-line internet rates in the world include Ethiopia (average 157.67 USD/month), Cameroon (134.53 USD/month), Papua New Guinea (102.11 USD/month) and the United Arab Emirates (100.19 USD/month).

Numbeo's report shows that African countries have poor telecommunications infrastructure, lack of competition among service providers and low number of fixed Internet users... which are the reasons why fixed Internet prices here are always high.

On the other hand, Ukraine is the country with the cheapest fixed-line internet rates in the world, with an average monthly rate of $6.37.

After Ukraine, the next names in the list of 5 countries with the cheapest fixed-line internet rates in the world include Iran ($7.42/month), India ($7.64/month), Russia ($7.83/month), and Nepal ($8.48/month).

With an average monthly fee of only 8.87 USD (equivalent to 233,000 VND), Vietnam is the country with the 6th lowest monthly fixed Internet fee globally, the cheapest in Southeast Asia and the fourth cheapest in Asia (after Iran, India and Nepal).

Vietnam is also one of the countries with the most stable fixed internet rates in the world, with rates having remained virtually unchanged over the past five years.

Although the price has not changed, major network operators in Vietnam such as Viettel, VNPT, andFPT have also "raced" to increase the speed of their packages to meet user needs as well as contribute to promoting the digital transformation process in the country.

Numbeo's report shows that most Asian and Eastern European countries have fixed internet prices that are significantly lower than the global average.
