According to Circular 50 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , from June 1, 2026, E10 gasoline will be officially distributed nationwide, replacing RON95 gasoline. Meanwhile, E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to be available until December 31, 2030, to ensure service for older motorcycles.
Comparing the prices of E10 and RON95 gasoline.
Below is a comparison table of E10 and RON 95 gasoline prices at Petrolimex and PVOIL, based on the prices announced in the most recent price adjustment period (May 28, 2026):
Businesses | Type of gasoline | Retail price (VND/liter) |
| E10 RON-95V | 24,560 (Region 1) |
E10 RON 95-III | 23,660 (Region 1)
RON 95-V | 25,050 (Region 1)
RON 95-III | 24,150 (Region 1)
| RON 95-III | 24,150 |
E10 RON 95-III | 23,660 |
Thus, the price of E10 gasoline is currently 490-500 VND/liter lower than RON95 gasoline. This means that if users fill up with 20 liters of gasoline at a time, they will save approximately 9,800-10,000 VND compared to using RON95-III.
If you use 100 liters per month, the savings would be around 49,000 - 50,000 VND.
Why is E10 gasoline cheaper than RON 95 gasoline?
Explaining why E10 gasoline is cheaper than conventional gasoline, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hien, Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Management Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), said that the input costs for blending E10 gasoline are lower than the import price of conventional gasoline.
E10 is a type of biofuel that blends 10% fuel ethanol (bioethanol) with 90% traditional mineral gasoline. Because of its low input costs, businesses can sell E10 gasoline at a lower price than mineral gasoline.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hien, businesses are currently balancing the price of E10 gasoline based on their investment costs, while also relying on the government's pricing formula. Later, when E10 bio-gasoline is widely available, the government will issue the selling price.
" However, with lower input costs compared to conventional gasoline, the price of E10 gasoline will certainly be cheaper than traditional gasoline ," Ms. Hien added.
E10 gasoline is a type of biofuel containing 10% ethanol and 90% mineral gasoline, used in vehicles with gasoline engines.
According to the new regulations, unleaded gasoline will be blended into E10 gasoline for circulation nationwide. Meanwhile, E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to be used until December 31, 2030, to suit some older motorcycle models.
This means that RON95-V and RON95-III mineral gasoline will be replaced by bio-gasoline from June 1, 2026.
Accordingly, the market will only have biofuels such as: E10 RON95-V gasoline, E10 RON95-III gasoline, and E5 RON92-II gasoline.
