Storm Wipha (storm number 3) is moving rapidly into the East Sea with a strong intensity of level 10-11, gusting to level 13, and may affect our mainland from tonight, July 21 to July 22.
At 4am this morning, the eye of storm No. 3 was about 275km east of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong . It is forecasted that today, the storm will enter the Gulf of Tonkin.
From the experience of Typhoon Yagi last year, medical facilities in Quang Ninh have made plans to protect their facilities, machinery, equipment, and medical records. Medical stations in areas at risk of flooding have relocated essential equipment to ensure safety.

According to the Quang Ninh Department of Health, as of this morning, July 21, two patients who were victims of the tourist boat capsize in Ha Long Bay, who were treated at Quang Ninh General Hospital and Bai Chay Hospital, have been transferred to a hospital near their home for treatment.
HNM (10 years old, Hanoi) was treated at Bai Chay Hospital and was transferred to the National Children's Hospital at 10am yesterday morning to be closer to home and more convenient for care. Currently, her health is stable, she is being treated for pneumonia with antibiotics and receiving psychological counseling.
Faced with the speed of movement of storm No. 3, the Ministry of Health has directed localities and medical units in the Northern and Central regions to urgently deploy emergency response measures.
The Ministry of Health requires medical facilities to be ready for emergency care 24/7 when a storm hits: Organize professional staff to ensure admission and treatment of flood victims; do not interrupt medical examination and treatment; prepare enough medicine, chemicals, and medical supplies, especially in high-risk areas.
Localities must proactively evacuate hospitals and medical stations in low-lying areas prone to flooding or landslides; and implement plans to protect assets, medical equipment and medical records.
The Ministry of Health also requested localities to prevent and control epidemics after the storm: Strengthen environmental sanitation, ensure clean water and food safety, maintain stable medical examination and treatment activities, and at the same time, report damage and support needs to the Ministry of Health for synthesis and propose competent authorities to consider timely support.
The Ministry of Health emphasized the requirement for heads of agencies, affiliated units and directors of the Department of Health of the Northern and Central regions to strictly implement the directive, ensuring the safety of people and medical staff in all situations. According to the Department of Health of Quang Ninh, immediately after activating the disaster emergency plan in the tourist boat capsized incident, the local health sector also prepared response plans for storm No. 3 such as ambulances, medicines, hospital beds, ready to respond to emergency and treat patients during the time of storm No. 3's landfall.
