According to the 2025 high school graduation exam regulations, the formula for calculating graduation recognition scores includes the scores of the subjects the candidate takes the exam for (accounting for 50%); the average score (GPA) of grades 10, 11 and 12 (accounting for 50%) and priority and incentive points.
The formula is as follows:

In which, the average score of the school years is calculated according to the following formula:

The average score for grades 10, 11 and 12 is the average score of all subjects assessed by scores.
This year, foreign language certificates will continue to be used to exempt from exams in graduation recognition, but will not be converted into 10 points in graduation recognition as before; the graduation score calculation formula does not include foreign language points in this case.
This approach continues to encourage foreign language learning but aims to be more equitable in graduation. For example, previously, students with an IELTS 4.0 certificate were also converted to a score of 10, just like students with an IELTS 8.5 score.
2025 is the year when the first batch of students following the new generaleducation program will take their graduation exams. At 8:00 a.m. on July 16, examination councils and Departments of Education and Training across the country will announce the results of the high school graduation exam, one day earlier than last year (last year it was July 17).
