Serbia has a very strong volleyball foundation for both men and women. Therefore, not many people expect the surprise that the U21 Vietnamese women's volleyball team can create in this match.

But entering the match, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team stunned their opponents. In the opening match, U21 Serbia showed their superior strength when defeating Puerto Rico 3-0. The team's strong point was the height of the blockers, as they had 17 successful blocks.

But the U21 Vietnamese women's volleyball team had a solution to overcome that. They applied flexible and unpredictable coordination so that U21 Serbia could not block in time. Setter Khanh Huyen also had smart passes to block to create opportunities.

Thanks to that, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team won a surprising 25-21 victory in set 1.

Winning a set against one of the strongest teams in the tournament was an unexpected success for the Vietnamese girls. Even in this set, U21 Serbia only successfully blocked the ball once.

In set 2, U21 Vietnam could not maintain the same playing state as before. However, the team's spirit was still maintained. At times, they saved 2 set-points to shorten the score to 23-24. Unfortunately, U21 Serbia still won 25-23 in this set.

In set 3, U21 Vietnam continued to create an earthquake with a 25-22 victory. At one point, they even surpassed their opponents by 19-14.

In the next set, the two teams continued to create a tense tug-of-war. Serbia took the lead at 10-6, but the Vietnamese girls played bravely to come back to 11-10. The turning point of the match came when the score was 13-13. At this time, the Southeast Asian representative scored a series of 5 points to lead 18-13.

Despite the moment when they were down and let their opponents narrow the score, U21 Vietnam still won 25-23 to end the match with a score of 3-1.

This is a shocking result because U21 Serbia is a very strong team, while U21 Vietnam is only participating in the tournament for the first time. With 2 wins, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team has a good chance of entering the top 4 of Group A and winning a ticket to the round of 16.
