Soc Trang - Aspiration to reach far

STO - On the evening of November 25, at Bach Dang Square, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Soc Trang province in 2023, with the theme "Soc Trang - Aspiration to reach far".

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee emphasized: "This is the biggest cultural event of the year and also an annual activity, which has long become a cultural festival product with the unique cultural identity of the Khmer people in Soc Trang province. For many years now, once a year, the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Soc Trang province, whether organized at the provincial or regional level, has always been an activity imbued with the traditional cultural identity of the Khmer people in the South in general and Soc Trang province in particular, attracting the attention and anticipation of many people and tourists inside and outside the province".

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that at this festival, in addition to the requirement to continue preserving and promoting the good traditional cultural values of the Khmer people, strengthening the solidarity of ethnic groups for mutual development, Soc Trang province hopes that the activities within the framework of the festival will leave good feelings in the hearts of delegates and visitors from near and far, through cultural exchange, trade connection, tourism stimulation, so that everyone can understand and love the land and people of Soc Trang more. At the same time, he also hopes that domestic and foreign businesses and investors will come to Soc Trang to seek investment opportunities, to cooperate and develop together.

On this occasion, the representative of the Council for establishing Vietnam Records Organization - VietKings Vietnam Records awarded the decision and certificate of establishing Vietnam Record for the largest mosaic painting on the theme of Soc Trang rice plants past and present made from ST25 rice in Vietnam and expressed gratitude to the sponsor.

After the ceremony, delegates enjoyed an art program with the theme "Happy Moon Season" consisting of 2 chapters: Chapter 1 - Happy Moon Season shows the joy and happiness of the Khmer people and ethnic communities in the province during the Ooc Om Boc - Ngo Boat Racing festival; Chapter 2 - Towards the future shows the aspiration and belief in a rich, prosperous and happy Soc Trang.
