Rain and floods from July 26 to July 27, 2025 caused great damage to people and property of the people and the State in Son La province, especially in the communes of Huoi Mot, Muong Lam, Chieng So, Song Ma, Sop Cop, Bo Sinh. Accordingly, rain and floods have separated and isolated many residential areas; killed 5 people, 1 person missing; over 320 houses were damaged, of which over 30 houses were completely collapsed, over 70 houses had to be urgently evacuated; over 140 houses were at risk of landslides... Damaged 110 hectares of rice, along with some areas of fruit trees, annual trees, flowers and vegetables; 11.2 hectares of aquatic products; 90 livestock, 2,560 poultry were swept away; Many roads, irrigation works, schools, electricity and water systems, communications... were severely damaged.

Faced with severe damage caused by natural disasters, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province has launched a campaign to raise funds and support to overcome the damage caused by natural disasters in Son La province; calling on agencies, units, organizations, businesses, philanthropists and people inside and outside the province to participate in supporting and helping people in disaster areas with material and spiritual support, contributing to quickly restoring production and stabilizing life.
