According to statistics and analysis of the 2025 high school graduation exam score distribution announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of July 15, Son La province is honored to be in the top 10 localities with the highest average score in Information Technology in the country.

This year's high school graduation exam took place on June 26 and 27 with the participation of more than 1.16 million candidates nationwide. Of which, nearly 1.14 million candidates took the exam under the new general education program (2018) and more than 26,700 under the old program (2006). For the first time, Informatics was included in the list of elective subjects in the graduation exam for students studying the new program, along with the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, Agricultural Technology, Industrial Technology, Foreign Languages (7 languages).

This year, more than 7,600 candidates registered for the IT exam, with the national average score reaching 6.78 points and 60 candidates achieving a perfect score of 10. In Son La , although only 27 candidates chose the IT exam, the results were very encouraging. The average IT exam score of the province reached 7,196 points, ranking 9th out of 10 provinces and cities with the highest average exam score in the country.
