The explosion of Vietnamese MMA with a new team fighting format

On the evening of April 12, 2025, at Tay Ho Stadium (Hanoi), LION Championship 21 brought a new breeze to the Vietnamese MMA scene with the first application of the 2v2 and 3v3 formats.

LION Championship 21 not only witnessed the brilliance of the fighters but also opened a new era for the Vietnamese MMA arena with a creative and dramatic competition format.

The event attracted strong attention from fans with thrilling, surprising and fighting matches. The highlight of the opening match was the 2v2 match between Raptor MMA and Tank Club.

Nguyen Trung Hai quickly strangled and knocked out Nguyen Ngoc Thuc in less than 1 minute. Immediately after, Nguyen Tien Long finished off Xuan Phuong by TKO, bringing a lightning victory to Raptor MMA after only 55 seconds.

The highlight match between “Irish Eagle” Liam Arnold James and Bui Dinh Khai made the stands even more explosive. Despite being overwhelmed at the beginning of the match, Dinh Khai still fought back strongly.

When it seemed like Liam was about to finish off his opponent with a choke, Khai suddenly escaped and launched an accurate counter-choke, winning after only 4 minutes and 25 seconds - a big surprise of the night.

The event ended with a 3v3 Gauntlet between AGOGE and Tank Club. Although AGOGE started strong, Tank Club showed great team spirit and character as Le Nguyen Phuc, Le Minh Hoang and Phan Huy Hoang defeated their opponents one after another, bringing home the overall victory.
