The Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 2025-2030 term took place in the context of the country facing new development opportunities.

On the morning of June 26, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 2025-2030 term was solemnly opened. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory flower basket to the Congress.

Attending and directing the Congress were Central Party Committee member, Standing Committee member of the Government Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh.

The congress was attended by Party Central Committee member, full-time Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee Le Thi Thuy; Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee Lai Xuan Lam; Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee Nguyen Duc Phong.

Attending the Congress were members of the Standing Committee, members of the Executive Committee of the Government Party Committee; representatives of the leaders of the advisory and support departments of the Government Party Committee.

The congress was attended by representatives of the Central Organizing Committee; Central Internal Affairs Committee; Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Central Inspection Committee; Central Party Office; and leaders of Party Committees of central ministries and branches.

On the side of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Congress was attended by Party Central Committee member, member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, Party Committee Secretary, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Alternate Party Central Committee member, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Ministers of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Trinh Thi Thuy, Hoang Dao Cuong, Ho An Phong, Phan Tam.

The Congress was attended by 248 delegates, outstanding cadres and party members, representing the faith, will, aspirations, solidarity and intelligence of nearly 3,000 party members from 58 grassroots party organizations.

Welcoming the delegates to the Congress, in his opening speech, Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed that at this sacred moment, our Congress respectfully remembers and expresses our infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the National Liberation Hero, World Cultural Celebrity with the thought "Culture must light the way for the nation to go".

The Congress expressed deep gratitude to revolutionary predecessors and cultural workers through the ages who spared no effort, intelligence and blood to contribute to building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, achieving the brilliant achievements of today.

According to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, looking back on the 5-year journey of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the motto: "Decisive action - Aspiration to contribute", in the spirit of openness and modesty, we can happily report to the congress: The activities of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have achieved positive and comprehensive results with many bright spots and outstanding marks, recognized and highly appreciated by the leaders of the Party, State, Government, Prime Minister and all classes of people.

Culture is preserved and promoted, awareness of the function and foundation of culture is enhanced; sports have made great strides; tourism affirms its important position in the economy, is a bridge of integration, a journey connecting the past, present and future; the press and media become "The conduit of knowledge - Connecting the trust between the Party, the State and the People". The four areas of State management are focusing on the mission of preserving the national soul, arousing the desire for development, spreading the trust, intelligence and Vietnamese mettle.

Party building work has been focused on with many breakthroughs in innovating the leadership methods of Party committees at all levels. Party building work in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres has had many positive changes, going into depth and substance, contributing to improving the mettle, attitude and ethical standards of cadres, Party members and the masses in association with mass mobilization work and increasingly more substantial leadership of political and social organizations.

The work of inspection, supervision and enforcement of Party discipline has been effectively implemented. The work of organizing the apparatus has been carried out in the direction of being streamlined, compact, strong, effective, efficient, and effective, unleashing resources and creating development.

However, according to the Minister, in addition to the achieved results, the work of building a cultural environment is still not synchronous, investment resources for culture are low and scattered, sports are highly fragmented and unstable, tourism still lacks regional connectivity, the press is facing pressure to transform digitally and protect the mainstream information flow. The work of Party building needs to continue to be directed and organized more deeply and comprehensively.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 2025-2030 term took place in the context of the country facing new development opportunities, but also many challenges.

The Congress takes place at a time when the Party, the State and the entire political system have been synchronously implementing historic policies and strategic breakthroughs to bring the country firmly into a new era - an era of strong and prosperous development with the highlight being the revolutions in the organization of the political system to be streamlined, strong, effective, efficient and effective; implementing the 2-level local government model; developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; promoting international integration; developing the private economy as a key lever, creating new opportunities for the strong development of the country in general and the Ministry and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in particular in the new period.

The above modern requirements require the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to always "keep the rhythm" and create "new rhythms".

“Keeping the rhythm” means keeping core values, keeping the flow of national culture from losing direction, maintaining stability in organization, belief, and morality.

“Creating a new rhythm” means promoting courage, creating new momentum for development, creating a creative flow in leadership thinking, creating creative breakthroughs in the fields that the Ministry is managing and administering.

“We must deeply understand the viewpoint: Cultural development is the cause of the entire Party and the entire people; the task of building and developing culture is the Party's leadership, the State's management, the People are the creative subjects; the intellectuals and artists play an important role. Culture is a vast field, the soul of the nation. The task of the entire Party is to make great efforts and high determination to build an advanced culture, imbued with national identity to confidently enter the new era,” Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that these are major issues that have decisive significance for the development of the Ministry and the Industry, not only in the short-term vision but also in the long-term and strategic vision. Therefore, he suggested that delegates focus on spending time, intelligence and enthusiasm to evaluate, interpret, discuss and decide in the direction of looking far ahead, thinking big and renewing themselves.

In addition, the Congress has the task of contributing opinions to the Draft Political Report of the Government Party Committee to be submitted to the 1st Government Party Congress, term 2025-2030, and documents of the 13th Party Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

As Minister Nguyen Van Hung said, with the theme: "Building a clean and strong grassroots Party organization; solidarity, discipline, responsibility; innovation; resolute action, aspiration for dedication" and the spirit: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge", we believe that the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, term 2025-2030 will be a great success, opening a new, strong, comprehensive development path of Vietnamese culture and people in the new era, making worthy contributions to the process of implementing the country's development goals until 2030 when our Party celebrates its 100th anniversary (1930-2030); towards realizing the vision by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2045), which our Party, State and people have determined.
