Empowering others to rise

At the beginning of 2026, the construction site of the charitable house in Hamlet 7, Thoi Binh Commune, was filled with the laughter and chatter of youth union members and local authorities. The groundbreaking ceremony, held in mid-January, brought the joy of having a stable home to Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan's family. For many years, due to limited arable land, Mr. and Mrs. Quan earned their living as laborers. "Without the support, financial assistance, and encouragement, a sturdy house would have remained just a lifelong dream for my family," Mr. Quan shared emotionally.

Through the connections of the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union, 60 million VND was raised to support Mr. Quan's family. The 40 m² house, built according to the "four solid" criteria, is expected to be completed in December so that the family can celebrate a warmer and more joyful Tet holiday.

Mr. Quan happily said, “ Our old house was just a makeshift shelter, exposed to rain and wind. Now, thanks to the sponsorship, we have a more solid and comfortable home. My family is very happy. Now we just need to focus on developing our business so that this Tet holiday we can have a more spacious house and feel more cheerful. ”

Not far away, in Hamlet 12, the "Shrimp Breeding Program - Overcoming Difficulties for Young People" brought great joy to Huynh Van Nho, a young man from a disadvantaged background. The "Spring Volunteer" program provided 20,000 tiger shrimp fry to help Nho improve his life, with funding secured through the local Youth Union's efforts in connecting with local businesses.

Realizing the dream of a stable home and livelihood through the "Caring for Children - Overcoming Difficulties" model.

For Mr. Nho, this support is a great source of encouragement. He expressed: “The shrimp fry provided will help my family reduce the burden of initial investment costs and allow us to restore production. After receiving the shrimp fry, I will focus on improving the ponds and caring for them using proper techniques so that the shrimp grow healthily. I hope for good results, creating a stable income and helping me escape poverty and have the means to take care of my father. I am grateful for the concern of all levels of government, relevant agencies, and the youth of Thoi Binh.”

Continuing the journeys of spring

In Thoi Binh hamlet, there was also a bustling atmosphere as 13 hamlet organizations, along with a large number of Youth Union members and young people, coordinated to repair the long-dilapidated road leading to the April 30th Bridge. To carry out this project, the locality received 20 bags of cement from the Tet Military-Civilian Program and also mobilized residents to contribute an additional 3 cubic meters of sand.

Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hamlet 3, shared : " This is a common task in our locality. Seeing that the road quality ensures safe travel for vehicles and people, we feel that our work is very meaningful."

The collective efforts of young people have received strong support from the government and the people. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of Thoi Binh Hamlet, affirmed: “Although the road section is short, it is very meaningful, helping people travel safely. The young people are always exemplary, maintaining their weekly Sunday labor day to maintain and repair the subsided sections of the road, determined to ensure that this Tet holiday the roads are clear and the sidewalks are unobstructed for people to enjoy the spring festivities.”

Another highlight of this year's campaign is the "Flowering Utility Poles" model. Along the main roads, Youth Union members and volunteers enthusiastically removed illegal advertisements and flyers, replacing them with vibrant murals, patterns, and propaganda slogans.

Ms. Diep Thi Nhu Y, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hoa Hong Kindergarten, shared : “ Before painting, we had to scrub off the old paint layer, then carefully trace the lines. With passion and a proactive spirit, we are not afraid of hard work, only hoping that the 2026 spring activities will be more successful, so that the environment will be greener, cleaner, and more beautiful. ”

The Spring Volunteer Program in Thoi Binh commune is not just about superficial activities, but also a practical training environment for Youth Union members and young people. Ms. Trinh Huyen Tran, Secretary of the Thoi Binh Commune Youth Union, said that they have developed a detailed plan, dividing the youth force into four teams. Team leaders directly monitor and supervise the work, ensuring that even though the tasks are carried out simultaneously and continuously, the quality and progress are maintained.

“ The most valuable thing is the enthusiasm and willingness to overcome difficulties shown by the young people. They are all determined to bring the warm Tet atmosphere early to the people, striving to excellently complete their tasks to contribute to the springtime beauty of their homeland through these youth projects, ” Ms. Tran emphasized .

The Thoi Binh Commune Youth Union mobilized its members to simultaneously implement four programs.

"Spring Volunteer" not only affirms the pioneering role of young people in caring for those in difficult circumstances, but also contributes to achieving accomplishments to celebrate the Party and the spring. The solidarity and efforts of the young people of Thoi Binh have strongly affirmed the spirit of "Where there is a need, the youth are there; whatever is difficult, the youth will overcome it," bringing joy from the sharing and dedication of volunteer hearts.
