In less than a month, the qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup in the Central Coast region will officially take place at Military Zone 5 Stadium (No. 7 Duy Tan Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City).

In the qualifying round of the Central Coast region, there are 9 student teams competing, including: Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, Duy Tan University, Hue University, Hue University of Economics , University of Science, University of Technical Education, Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, Polytechnic College, University of Law - Hue University. This year's qualifying round of the Central Coast region has 1 more team compared to last year's season.

The qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup in the Central Coast region will be held at Military Zone 5 Stadium (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City).

To best prepare for the tournament, Military Zone 5 Stadium has embarked on a "major renovation" to renovate and upgrade many items, especially renewing the natural grass surface to prepare for the qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporters, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Sinh, Director of the National Defense Sports Center 3 (Military Region 5), said that over the past half month, workers have been working hard to repair and replace items included in the stadium maintenance plan.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Sinh, the stadium's grandstand with a capacity of more than 12,000 people has been repaired, the railings in the grandstand area have also been replaced and the grandstand floor has been repainted. In addition, the natural grass field has been renewed, and the drainage system has been completely upgraded. In particular, the National Defense Sports Center 3 (Military Region 5) has invested in an automatic watering system to take care of the grass, ensuring the best quality of the grass field during the tournament.

"We have upgraded the entire lighting system, ready to serve the matches taking place at night," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Sinh informed.

In particular, to serve athletes and fans when they come to compete and cheer, the National Defense Sports Center 3 (Military Region 5) has repaired and renovated 4 restrooms and some storage rooms and changing rooms for athletes in the grandstand area to bring the most comfort to students and people when they come to the stadium to cheer.

Workers urgently repair and upgrade many items at the Military Region 5 multi-purpose sports complex to prepare for major tournaments.

Welcome student football team to the coastal city

In the previous two seasons, the qualifying round was held at the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports Stadium (2022) and the Hue City Center for Culture, Information and Sports Stadium (2023). This year, for the first time, the qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup in the Central Coast region was held at the Military Zone 5 Stadium.

The railings of the stands of Military Zone 5 Stadium have been completely replaced.

"This is the first time the unit has coordinated with Thanh Nien Newspaper to organize a football tournament for students. In the spirit of noble sportsmanship, we hope that the tournament will be a great success to unite students from the Central region. Regarding the field, we ensure the best quality, creating comfort for the team and fans throughout the tournament... In a short time, the stadium will complete the repairs and be ready to welcome the student team to compete in the coastal city", Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Sinh emphasized.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Sinh, Military Zone 5 Stadium is located in the center of Da Nang City, with a multi-purpose sports complex including soccer fields, badminton, swimming, tennis, pickleball..., which is a place where large-scale sports activities and cultural and artistic events regularly take place to serve officers, soldiers and the masses.

"Previously, the Rock Storm 7 music night with the participation of 10,000 fans was successfully held at Military Zone 5 Stadium, creating a very good impression. Recently, our unit has regularly organized national-scale tournaments. Therefore, the staff of the center has a lot of experience in organizing events, so I think the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup held at Military Zone 5 Stadium will satisfy the hearts of football lovers", Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Sinh expressed.

The qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup has 66 teams divided into 6 groups competing according to geographical areas from December 28, 2024 to January 18, 2025. Specifically, including the northern region (from December 30, 2024 - January 10, 2025 at Thuy Loi University Stadium); the Central Coast region (from January 6 - January 12, 2025 at Military Zone 5 Stadium - Da Nang); the South Central and Central Highlands regions (January 10 - January 18, 2025 at Nha Trang University Stadium); the Southeast region (January 4 - January 12, 2025 at Bau Thanh Stadium, Ba Ria - Vung Tau); Southwestern region (January 8 - January 17, 2025 at Can Tho Stadium) and Ho Chi Minh City region (December 28, 2024 - January 15, 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium) to select 11 teams with the host team Ton Duc Thang University to compete in the final round of the tournament from March 1 - March 16, 2025.
