On June 11, Japanese conglomerate Nintendo said it sold more than 3.5 million Switch 2 consoles in the first four days after its launch, making it the best-selling gaming device in the company's history.
In a forecast released last month, the Kyoto-based company estimated Switch 2 sales would reach 15 million units in the current fiscal year (ending March 2026).
Fans around the world are excited about Nintendo Switch 2, which will enhance their gaming experience at home and on the go, said Doug Bowser, president and CEO of Nintendo of America.
Since its launch in 2017, the Nintendo Switch has sold 152 million units worldwide, creating a phenomenon in the gaming industry with outstanding titles such as The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing: New Horizons - the game became a global hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The second-generation Switch, which officially hit shelves on June 5, retains the distinctive design of its predecessor but features significant performance upgrades with a larger screen and improved graphics. The device is released with popular games like Mario Kart World./.
