Taking to heart the advice of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong on promoting solidarity, preserving national cultural identity, and helping each other develop the economy , the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Van commune have strived to become one of the typical communes of Sa Pa town.

17 years ago, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, then Chairman of the National Assembly , visited and talked with the people of Ta Van commune (Sa Pa). Taking to heart the advice of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong on promoting solidarity, preserving national cultural identity, and helping each other develop the economy, the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Van commune have strived to become one of the typical communes of the town and are preparing to "reach the finish line" of building a new countryside.
Returning to Ta Van commune (Sa Pa) - the place where comrade Nguyen Phu Trong visited 17 years ago. Meeting us, former Chairman of Ta Van commune People's Committee Trieu Xuan Pha could not hide his disappointment and regret when the devoted and loyal communist left this world. Memories flooded back, 17 years had passed but he recounted the story of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to the commune as clearly as if it were yesterday with pride mixed with regret.
Mr. Trieu Xuan Pha said: At that time, to get to the commune center, one had to go through a suspension bridge, the road was full of dirt and rocks. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong and the Central Working Group along with the provincial leaders walked from the suspension bridge to the commune center. On both sides of the road, a large crowd of people were eagerly waiting, people standing nearby, Uncle Trong came to shake hands with him and asked him how he was doing, people standing far away, he raised his hand to greet. From the handshake, the simple greetings and the closeness of the high-ranking Party leader, it created an intimate, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere like in a family.

Regarding the old instructions of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, former Chairman of Ta Van Commune People's Committee Trieu Xuan Pha recalled: After listening to the commune leaders' reports on the socio-economic development situation, ensuring national defense and security, comrade Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his joy and praised the efforts to transform the economic structure, rise up to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty of cadres and ethnic people in the commune. At the same time, he requested the people of Ta Van commune not to be complacent with the achieved results, continue to think about promoting economic restructuring, not only traditional agricultural production but also expanding other economic services and tourism products to improve life in the coming time.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong advised the people of all ethnic groups in Ta Van commune to unite and love each other more, preserve the national cultural identity, help each other develop the economy, pay attention to education, and contribute to building Lao Cai homeland to become more and more prosperous.

During the visit to Ta Van commune, comrade Nguyen Phu Trong and the Central Working Delegation visited and presented gifts to families with revolutionary contributions in the locality.
Mr. San A Chang (79 years old), Ta Van Day 2 village, Ta Van commune, recalled: At that time, I was the only person in the commune who received a gift from comrade Nguyen Phu Trong for families with revolutionary contributions. What remains in the people's minds is the simplicity and closeness of a high-ranking leader, head of the Party and State. Without elaborate, formal attire, comrade Nguyen Phu Trong always had a friendly smile and raised his hand to greet everyone wherever he went.
Mr. San Van Phuc (born in 1993), Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Sa Pa town, confided: In the 8th grade, I was honored to be a student holding the flag to welcome Uncle Trong to visit the commune. My impression of Uncle Trong at that time was his closeness, always smiling when asking about the people. When listening to Uncle Trong's speech, I told myself that I needed to try to study well, so that when I grow up, I can contribute to the local development. In my current position, I actively organize with the union members and youth to continue studying and improving their knowledge, at the same time advise on organizing movements, programs, and activities of the Union - Association and take the lead in developing the local economy.

Comrade Si Van Cang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Ta Van Commune, recalled: In early October 2007, I was an officer in the commune office, so I was also able to participate in welcoming the Central Working Group. The words of encouragement and advice from Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong became an important source of spiritual encouragement, helping cadres, party members and people in the commune unite to strive and achieve the set goals.

At that time, Ta Van was still a particularly difficult commune, people's income mainly depended on agricultural production and livestock farming, so the poverty rate was still high, and rural infrastructure was lacking and weak. Following the instructions of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Van commune made efforts to promote economic development from commodity agricultural production, service business, tourism and building a cultural life. In addition, the commune integrated and mobilized resources to focus on investing in completing infrastructure, the rural appearance was increasingly prosperous, with spacious, clean and beautiful roads.

Up to now, Ta Van commune has 175 households doing business, providing tourism services, and opening homestays to welcome guests; the average income is over 40 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to over 27%. Currently, Ta Van commune is focusing on completing to strive to achieve 19 criteria for building new rural areas by the end of 2024.
The respected General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is no longer here, but the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Van commune are determined and willing to join hands and hearts to develop the economy and promote the spirit of solidarity and unity to enrich the homeland, worthy of the instructions and wishes of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong.
