Uncle Ho is a person who “cherishes everything but forgets himself”, just as he said: “I dedicate my whole life to my people”. In the work “Following Uncle Ho’s footsteps”, poet To Huu wrote: “Uncle lives like our heaven and earth/ Loves every grain of rice, every flower branch/ Freedom for every slave/ Milk for children, silk for the elderly”. Uncle Ho’s love is great and immense: “Uncle is so immense, isn’t it, my child?/ Like the whole earth and sky, the whole mountains/ Like the leaves and flowers that flourish in all four seasons/ Like the roots deep in the depths of the soul” (Te Hanh - Uncle Ho’s Tree) and is also very specific and close to each human destiny: “On Uncle Ho’s head, the frost is engraved,/ Surely a few strands have turned white because of us” (Xuan Dieu - Poems dedicated to Uncle Ho).

The person who cares for the country and the people, “only knows how to forget himself, for everyone”; a lifetime of restlessness and worry for the fate of the country: “Tonight Uncle Ho does not sleep/ For a common reason/ Uncle is Ho Chi Minh” (Minh Hue - Tonight Uncle Ho does not sleep). That is Ho Chi Minh! Even though Uncle Ho has passed away, in the hearts of the Vietnamese people, Uncle Ho still lives forever with the country, with everyone, every family: “My house hangs a picture of Uncle Ho/ Above is a bright red flag/ Every day Uncle Ho smiles/ He watches us playing in the house” (Tran Dang Khoa - Uncle Ho's Photo).

Even during the years when the country was still submerged in enemy bombs and bullets, the North and the South were divided by the border, the hearts of the Southern people still turned to Uncle Ho to firmly believe that the North and the South were one, sharing the same flag: "The enemy wanted to divide the country/ But the South still turned to Uncle Ho,/ To the red color of the flag/ To the day when the North and the South were united" (Thanh Hai - I miss Uncle Ho).

The people of the Central Highlands carved the words “Long live Ho Chi Minh” into the Truong Son cliffs as a call to arms. The enemy understood the power of those words, so they tried every way to erase them. But the cliffs were so steep that no enemy dared to climb them. The people of the Central Highlands had overcome many hardships to carve those words, and now, even if they had to sacrifice, they were determined to protect those sacred words like the shining truth: “The human chest swells in the storm/ Blood spurts out to open the way for the cliffs to fly up/ “Long live Ho Chi Minh!”” (Thu Bon - Ho Chi Minh Cliffs).

He was the important historical figure who revived the miraculous power of four thousand years of history: “With Him, we have Hung Vuong again.../ With Him, each bronze arrow of Co Loa/ Refuses to be buried in the ground/ Refuses to lie still in the museum/ They fly up and tear the wind of time/ Opening all the paths through the ups and downs of history” (Nguyen Khoa Diem - The Road of Aspiration). Not only was he an outstanding revolutionary, he was also a great cultural figure: “By Uncle's pillow, the words of the country are still warm/ The halo of the mountains and rivers gathers on his body/ Uncle is as vast as the ocean/ The soul of the nation crystallizes the soul of the era...” (Hai Nhu - We watch over your sleep, Uncle Ho!).

In addition to his ideology, morality, and style, he also left behind a valuable literary and artistic legacy: "I read hundreds of poems with hundreds of beautiful ideas/ The light shines on my green head/ Uncle Ho's poems, steel poems/ But still filled with immense love" (Hoang Trung Thong - Reading Uncle Ho's poems).

He laid the foundation for revolutionary poetry and inspired generations of Vietnamese poets, attracting even famous romantic poets before the revolution, inspiring them to see the mission of poetry, to use their talents to serve the common cause: "When I want my poetry to become a pit of spikes to kill the enemy/ To become a cool flower branch for life/ When every step of my heart is imbued with class sentiment/ I know that in my life, Uncle Ho has come" (Che Lan Vien - The person who changed my life, the person who changed my poetry).

It can be said that, with their infinite love for Uncle Ho, with their subtle emotions and talents, Vietnamese poets have left behind a huge poetic legacy, contributing to the clearest, most diverse and richest expression of the merits, career, morality and talent of President Ho Chi Minh - National Hero, outstanding cultural celebrity of the era.
