The "Colors of Ho Chi Minh City" series of activities is organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
Attending the opening ceremony were: Tran Kim Yen, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, former Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

The opening of the event series featured a harmonious blend of symphony and choral performances, combined with spectacular 3D mapping displays, offering audiences a visually stunning and emotionally captivating music and light show. In particular, leading 3D mapping art teams from France, Belgium, Singapore, and Vietnam, who have made their mark at top-tier events globally – from Europe and Asia to the Middle East – came together to create a "light show" where music and technology intersect, elevating the audience's visual experience.

The opening performance came from the 3D Mapping team AC3 Studio from France. It was an emotionally charged introduction, expressing appreciation for the beauty, history, and ever-evolving spirit of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Dirty Monitor group of artists from Belgium continued the program with a 3-minute presentation celebrating the traditional values and global spirit of Ho Chi Minh City.
Using techniques of rotating and transforming architectural forms and smooth motion effects, the Singapore team delivered a captivating visual experience in just 3 minutes. The performance was a heartfelt greeting from the Lion City, conveying a message of companionship, exchange, and creative collaboration among cities in the region.

Finally, the presentation came from Vietsoftpro - the host team from Vietnam - with the theme "Vietnam in My Heart". It was a journey exploring the beauty of the S-shaped country - from its legendary origins to its powerful rise in the new era.
Visual art opens up a space for perception, providing memorable, unique, and impressive visual experiences… so that each viewer, whether a Vietnamese person or an international friend, can find their own "Vietnam within them" in their very own way.
The appearance of symbols such as the mythical Lac bird, the Dragon and the Immortal, the Vietnamese people from the time of creation, and significant historical milestones such as the reenactment of three representative Declarations, corresponding to different periods, thereby strongly affirming the independence and self-determination of the nation, including: Nam Quoc Son Ha (1076) by Ly Thuong Kiet; Binh Ngo Dai Cao (1428) by Nguyen Trai; and the Declaration of Independence (1945) by President Ho Chi Minh in the performance brought viewers emotion and a surge of pride.
From the majestic North, through the sun-drenched Central region, to the dynamic and vibrant South – it's a gentle yet profound visual journey, where Vietnam's nature and people are vividly portrayed in every frame. This is the greeting that Ho Chi Minh City sends to domestic and international tourists.

The series of activities within the framework of "Colors of Ho Chi Minh City" will continue with many special events, taking place from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM on April 19th, 26th, 29th, and 30th, with various activities organized at the following locations: In front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters; the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue - Le Loi Street; the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue - Mac Thi Buoi Street; the pedestrian area of Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke Street; and the Ben Bach Dang Park area.
In addition, numerous performances of folk songs, dances, and music, traditional theater, traditional music, contemporary art performances, sports demonstrations, and street entertainment create grand artistic and entertainment feasts. Water sports performances also liven up the Saigon River.

In addition, thematic exhibitions and public film screenings will be held on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street. The series of activities will also include brass band performances, a cavalry parade, community art, and especially a light show using drone technology, expected to set a world record with 10,500 drones.
Also in the Nguyen Hue pedestrian area, on the evening of April 19th, the opening ceremony of the installation exhibition "From the Battle of Bach Dang to the Great Victory of April 30, 1975" by artist Le Huu Hieu took place. The exhibition displays 30 wooden stakes covered in lacquer and inscribed with the poem "Proclamation to the Soldiers" (in both Vietnamese and Nom script), along with 70 statues and 18 lacquer paintings, all combined into a magnificent work. The artist arranged the works with the artistic intention of recounting the indomitable spirit of our ancestors, from the historic Battle of Bach Dang River to the triumphant spring song of 1975, the reunification of the country, and the unification of the nation.

On the evening of April 26th, in the space in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and People's Committee headquarters, there will be a 3D Mapping light art performance by Hexogon Solutions (Singapore) with the work "Urban Pulse" . On the evening of April 29th, DirtyMonitor (Belgium) will present a performance with the theme "Commercial Heritage and Global Connection" .
