The publication "Heart for the Country"

This book compiles typical speeches, writings, and interviews of Comrade Nguyen Thi Binh, not only expressing the thoughts, views, and feelings of a historical witness, but also representing the culmination of her intellect, courage, and character – from a steadfast revolutionary fighter on the political and diplomatic battlefield to an exemplary citizen in peacetime, always deeply concerned with issues of cultural, social, educational, and human development.

With three parts: Reflections on the Country, the People, and the Party; Diplomacy and Lessons Learned; and For an Honest, Healthy, and Modern Education , the book takes readers back to the historic Paris Conference, where Comrade Nguyen Thi Binh – the only woman at the negotiating table – served as the head of the negotiating delegation of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam. Comrade Nguyen Thi Binh affirmed: “In the history of world diplomacy, the Paris negotiations on Vietnam... were the longest negotiations to end a war in the 20th century.” With over 200 public sessions and hundreds of interviews, these numbers not only demonstrate the ferocity of the diplomatic front but also provide vivid evidence of the perseverance, courage, and wisdom of Vietnam's revolutionary diplomacy.

Furthermore, the book also records the contributions of Comrade Nguyen Thi Binh in the field of education, during her tenure as Minister of Education from 1976 to 1987. During this period, November 20th, Vietnamese Teachers' Day, was chosen to honor the teaching profession, and the titles of "People's Teacher" and "Outstanding Teacher" were officially recognized. This reflects the strategic vision of a leader who always put people at the center, considering education as the foundation for the sustainable development of the country.

The book's uniqueness lies in its simplicity, sincerity, and profound impact. The recollections of a life deeply intertwined with the nation, of refusing the position of Vice President due to retirement age, and then accepting it out of devotion to the country, reveal a great character and a sense of responsibility that transcends personal gain.

The success of her memoir, "Family, Friends, and Country," with a circulation of 50,000 copies, demonstrates the powerful spread of the values that Comrade Nguyen Thi Binh conveyed. "Heart for the Country, " published later, is not a dry political memoir but rather the culmination of a life lived with the nation, deeply concerned about the country's future, and always steadfast in its belief in what is good. Therefore, this book will be a source of inspiration not only for those working in diplomacy and education, but also for all those who love and want to contribute to the country.
