The 4th quarter competition, the 23rd year of the Road to Olympia program, had the participation of 4 contestants: Tran Dang Khoa (student of Tien Giang High School for the Gifted, Tien Giang), Hoang Ngoc Thinh (student of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang ), Nguyen Trong Thanh (student of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong), Vo Nguyen Minh Triet (student of Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Quang Ngai).

First in January with 255 points, including 140 points in the Acceleration round, Nguyen Trong Thanh entered the fourth quarter competition with the strength of quick thinking and speed.

Throughout the competition, Trong Thanh always showed his brave playing style, ready to "fight" until the last question. Right in the Warm-up round, Thanh had 10 points after the first round, equal to the other 3 players.

But then, the male student quickly broke away in the second and third rounds. At the end of the Warm-up round, Thanh took the lead with 100 points, far surpassing the other contestants: Dang Khoa with 60 points, Minh Triet with 50, and Ngoc Thinh with 5.

However, in the Obstacle Race, Dang Khoa took the lead when he answered the obstacle “Food” just after the first horizontal row was revealed. Thanks to that, Dang Khoa took the lead with 120 points, while Trong Thanh had 100 points, Minh Triet 60, Ngoc Thinh 5.

In the Acceleration round, Minh Triet regained his form when he was the one who answered 2 questions correctly and fastest. Meanwhile, Trong Thanh answered 3 questions with 1 fastest answer, thereby gaining 80 more points. At the end of the Acceleration round, Trong Thanh took the lead with 180 points. Dang Khoa followed closely with 170 points, Minh Triet had 140 points and Ngoc Thinh had 95 points.

As the first contestant to compete in the Finishing round , Trong Thanh chose three questions worth 20 – 20 – 30 respectively. The male student answered all three questions correctly, leaving no chance for the other contestants to press the bell to answer. After that, Thanh continuously won points by correctly answering 1 history question in Minh Triet's Finishing round and 2 questions in Ngoc Thinh's round.

"Even at the last question, you still 'fought'," the host exclaimed when he saw Trong Thanh answer the last question correctly, ending the competition, even though the male student had already been sure of victory.

In the end, Trong Thanh won overwhelmingly with 330 points, while Dang Khoa had 220 points, Minh Triet 150 and Ngoc Thinh 65. Thanks to that, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted won the last ticket to the final round of the year of the Road to Olympia.

Trong Thanh said he wanted to dedicate this victory to his family, school and the people of Hai Phong city. In particular, he wanted to express his gratitude to the late Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh for his contributions and merits that helped Hai Phong city "change its skin".

Thus, the four faces that will participate in the final match of the year on October 8 include: Nguyen Viet Thanh (Soc Son High School, Hanoi), Nguyen Minh Triet (Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue), Le Xuan Manh (Ham Rong High School, Thanh Hoa), Nguyen Trong Thanh (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong).
