The new 2026 Mazda EZ-60 SUV is not entirely developed by Mazda Japan. It is a product of cooperation with domestic joint venture partner Changan and has a technical platform related to the Deepal S07. The car is positioned as a rival to the Tesla Model Y in the billion-people Chinese market. |

Inspired by the Arata concept introduced last year and featuring Mazda's logo and design. However, many modern details have been added to enhance recognition such as the super-slim LED daytime running lights, and the side camera system that replaces the traditional rearview mirror. |

The highlight of the Mazda EZ-60 cabin is the 25.6-inch central screen with 5K resolution. In addition, the car is also equipped with a 100-inch HUD display on the windshield, creating a high-tech experience for the driver. |

In total, the cabin has 6 screens, including screens on both sides of the dashboard that replace the rearview mirrors and separate screens for the rear seats. However, the downside is the complete removal of physical buttons, which can affect the traditional operating experience. |

Other amenities include: heated/cooled front and rear seats, 23-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, 20 storage compartments, and a standard 350-liter luggage compartment that can be expanded to a maximum of 2,036 liters when the rear seats are folded. |

While the styling is distinctly Mazda, the engineering and powertrain are largely sourced from Chinese partner Changan. The Mazda EZ-60 is built on Changan’s own chassis, and supports two powertrain configurations: hybrid and pure electric. |

Detailed specifications have not been officially announced, but data from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) shows that the pure electric version has a maximum operating range of 600 km, while the hybrid version can reach 1,000 km. |

According to MIIT, the hybrid version uses a 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine that acts as a generator, charging the 31.7 kWh battery pack. The main electric motor is located at the rear axle, producing 255 horsepower. Notably, the hybrid version can operate purely on electricity with a range of up to 160 km, a number that is superior to many current hybrid models. |

According to the plan, the price of the Mazda EZ-60 will be announced after it goes into production in China from the second half of 2025. It is expected that the model will be distributed in international markets under the name Mazda CX-6e, starting from the end of this year. |
