On July 4, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision to award a certificate of merit to Mr. Tran Van Nghia (Chu Se commune, Gia Lai province) for his outstanding achievements in search and rescue work.

Previously, on July 3, while operating a drone to spray pesticides on a sweet potato field in Ia Tul commune (Gia Lai province), Mr. Nghia heard a cry for help from the Ba River. Discovering three children trapped on an alluvial land in the middle of floodwaters, about 50 meters from the shore, he quickly used the 50kg payload drone that was in operation to rescue them.

He was able to rescue two of the children. The remaining child was approached by his family by boat and brought safely to shore.
