Recognizing that public awareness campaigns are a key task in preventing and mitigating fire and explosion risks, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police has implemented numerous programs and activities to disseminate knowledge and provide skills guidance, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility among facility leaders and the general public.

Lieutenant Dang Thanh Long, an officer of the Go Dau area Firefighting and Rescue Team, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Provincial Police, stated: “The risk of fire and explosions at companies and businesses remains complex. Therefore, the unit is stepping up propaganda and practical training at facilities to raise awareness and responsibility among facility leaders; preparing forces, equipment, and necessary conditions for timely firefighting and rescue; promoting the role of on-site firefighting forces, and effectively implementing the 'four on-site' principle (on-site command, on-site forces, on-site equipment, on-site logistical supplies).”

At JINYU Vietnam TIRE Co., Ltd. (Phuoc Dong Industrial Park, Hung Thuan Commune, Tay Ninh Province), fire prevention and control is one of the key aspects that is given attention and implemented from three perspectives.

The company consistently focuses on personnel issues and emergency response plans for fire prevention and control; adheres to the established annual fire prevention and control management plan, conducts drills involving each department and process; and performs regular standardization management of fire fighting equipment.

Specifically, the company stipulates that unit-level inspections are conducted on the 5th of each month, safety personnel conduct inspections on the 10th, and managers conduct on-site inspections again on the 15th, to ensure that fire fighting equipment is functioning effectively.

The officer introduced the rescue and relief equipment.

Mr. Wang Yu, Director of Safety and Environment Department, JINYU Vietnam TIRE Co., Ltd., said: “In addition to the existing equipment in the factory, the company has equipped employees at each specific work location with appropriate fire fighting equipment. We also encourage employees to provide feedback and suggestions on fire safety management; and we have established an emergency fire fighting volunteer team in high-risk areas within the company.”

In addition, to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees, the company has coordinated with relevant authorities to organize training and professional development for managers and on-site fire fighting forces, combined with practical exercises on fire fighting and rescue plans.

Mr. Nguyen Do Tu, Team Leader of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team at JINYU Vietnam TIRE Co., Ltd., said: “Thanks to directly participating in the company's fire prevention and rescue drills, I have gained a lot of valuable experience. The company is a tire manufacturing enterprise, using flammable and explosive materials, so fire prevention is always given high priority. Key areas with high risks, such as raw material warehouses, finished product warehouses, and areas containing hazardous chemicals, are always subject to strict fire safety checks. Before starting their shift, employees inspect equipment and escape systems to ensure they are functioning effectively.”

The officer instructed the staff on how to properly wear protective clothing.

Mr. Le Thanh Phong, an employee of the Safety and Environment Department at JINYU Vietnam TIRE Co., Ltd., shared: “Fire prevention and control are extremely necessary because when an emergency occurs, remaining calm and responding to the incident is crucial to minimizing risks and damage to people and property. During my work, I focus on preventive measures, checking the use of gasoline and other flammable materials in the factory every day, and inspecting key areas according to regulations.”

To encourage companies, businesses, and residents to work together with authorities in fire prevention and control, the Go Dau area Fire and Rescue Team will continue to promote awareness and education through various forms: organizing extracurricular activities, practical drills, providing basic skills training on escape and the use of on-site firefighting equipment; applying digital platforms in public awareness campaigns; widely disseminating information about the "Safe Fire Prevention and Control Neighborhood Group" model in the community, with each household equipping at least one fire extinguisher and establishing more "Public Firefighting Points"; and strengthening inspections and risk assessments to guide and remind people to always be vigilant against fire hazards.
