Strengthening medical equipment management in the Central Highlands region

On September 13, in Buon Ma Thuot ward, Dak Lak Department of Health coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and Thien Hanh General Hospital to organize a scientific workshop with the theme "Medical equipment management in the Central Highlands region".

The workshop attracted more than 250 delegates from many hospitals, medical centers and clinics in Dak Lak province and other provinces.

In the context of the post-Covid-19 pandemic, the management and operation of medical equipment and supplies are facing many difficulties and challenges, from planning procurement, bidding, maintenance to exploitation and use. This workshop is expected to be a forum for units to share practical experiences, update new regulations as well as seek solutions to remove obstacles.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Huu Vu Quang, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health, emphasized: Medical equipment management is an essential task for hospitals. Over the past 5 years, especially after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, many facilities have encountered difficulties in management, arrangement as well as in the bidding process.

Therefore, seminars and conferences are coordinated with end-line hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City to give units in the region the opportunity to approach, exchange, resolve difficulties and improve management work.

The sharing from experts at the workshop will contribute to removing concerns, helping units have more specific directions and solutions in the coming time.

The workshop also had the participation of reports from experts from the Department of Infrastructure and Medical Equipment (Ministry of Health), experts from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and representatives from Thien Hanh General Hospital. In particular, the presence of representatives from the Department of Health of Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces brought more perspectives, contributing to enriching the discussion content and strengthening inter-regional connections in medical equipment management.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital wishes to share experiences in comprehensive management of the equipment life cycle, from supply chain, procurement, use to maintenance and liquidation, thereby supporting units in the region to perfect a more sustainable management system.

Through the workshop, Thien Hanh General Hospital affirmed its role as a companion with the regional health sector, joining hands to develop and improve the quality of medical equipment management. The workshop is also expected to become an annual activity, creating a practical professional forum for medical units to share, learn and develop.
