Strengthening cooperation on cyber security between Vietnam and the United States

The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Information Security Department and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency of the United States continues to affirm Vietnam's efforts in protecting critical digital infrastructure.

On November 14, in Hanoi, the Department of Information Security (AIS) under the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), US Department of Homeland Security on enhancing cooperation in the field of cyber security.

The event marks the official relationship between the two agencies to ensure cyber security, contributing to promoting the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and the United States.

At the ceremony, Acting Director of the Department of Information Security Tran Quang Hung emphasized the importance of the partnership between the Department and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in enhancing Vietnam's cyber security capacity.

Currently, cyber threats are increasingly sophisticated and unpredictable, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding contributes to marking Vietnam's efforts to protect important digital infrastructure and ensure a safe cyberspace.

Mr. Tran Quang Hung also stated that cooperation with an experienced organization like the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) helps Vietnam enhance its ability to protect national interests, contributing to a safer and more prosperous future globally.

Mr. Trent Frazier, Deputy Director for International Partnerships, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), shared that cooperation and collaboration are key to successfully protecting critical infrastructure and further enhancing cybersecurity capabilities.

The MOU will strengthen the existing partnership between the United States and Vietnam, helping the United States promote innovation, secure digital infrastructure, and combat evolving cyber threats.

The two agencies pledged to cooperate closely to realize the goals in the newly signed memorandum of understanding on information security cooperation; at the same time, they expressed their hope that the cooperative relationship between the two units will be increasingly sustainable, strongly developed, and worthy of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States./.
