Imbued with the Party's guiding ideology on gender equality, the Quang Ninh Women's Union has proactively developed and effectively implemented the contents of Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children". In the period of 2021-2025, the whole province has established 71 community communication teams, more than doubling the set target. These communication teams are not only places to provide knowledge and skills but also a bridge to spread the value of gender equality to each village and hamlet in remote areas.
With the application of digital technology through social networking platforms such as Zalo and Facebook, communication activities are increasingly closer to the people. Propaganda content focuses on eliminating gender prejudice, gender stereotypes, violence, child marriage, incestuous marriage... contributing to the formation of new, progressive thinking in the community.
One of the typical models of the project is the “Leaders of Change” Club with 41/50 models established. These clubs are a healthy playground for children, especially ethnic minority girls, to practice skills, raise gender awareness and confidently express their opinions. This is an important premise to build a new generation of responsible and knowledgeable citizens, contributing to preserving the progressive values of society.
Along with that, the Provincial Women's Union has organized hundreds of training and communication classes on health care, nutrition, abuse prevention, and improving production capacity, especially digital transformation classes for women. The rate of women participating in livelihood models trained in technology application has reached 60%, expected to complete 100% in 2025. This not only creates livelihoods and improves living conditions, but also helps women affirm their role as the main subject in local economic development.
The implementation of Project 8 in Quang Ninh is not only to promote gender equality, but also to concretize the Party's major policies on comprehensive human development, ensuring human rights, especially in ethnic minority areas. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the people's trust, especially women and children, in the leadership of the Party and the State.
Models such as “Community Media Team”, “Leader of Change” Club or “Trusted Address in the Community” are not only practical in life, but also clear evidence of the imbuement of Ho Chi Minh’s thought on the role of women in the revolutionary cause. Raising awareness and protecting the legitimate rights of women and children is a contribution to protecting the ideological foundation, morality and socialist lifestyle.
Promoting the achieved results, the Provincial Women's Union proposed many specific solutions for the next phase, such as continuing to replicate effective models, promoting creative communication, integrating with other national target programs. In particular, focusing on training monitoring and social criticism skills for union officials to participate in policy making and protecting the practical rights of ethnic minority women and children.
Gender equality is not a destination, but a journey that requires perseverance and consensus from the entire political system. The effective implementation of Project 8 in Quang Ninh has contributed to clearly demonstrating the Party's correct policy in protecting the ideological foundation - the foundation for a democratic, fair and civilized society.
