(Haiphong.gov.vn) - To ensure traffic safety, minimize traffic congestion and accidents for people and vehicles participating in traffic during the September 2 holiday in 2023, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho has just directed the Department of Transport to preside over and work with relevant functional agencies to develop plans, organize well road and inland waterway transport activities, guide, regulate and separate traffic flows in the central area, bus stations, train stations, wharves and tourist destinations in the city.

Research and allocate traffic flows to ensure they are suitable for the transport capacity of Got - Cai Vieng Ferry and Cat Hai - Phu Long cable car route, to avoid prolonged traffic congestion to Cat Ba Island. Proactively work with road and inland waterway passenger transport businesses to create favorable conditions for infrastructure, increase trips, and improve service quality to transport passengers during the September 2 holiday.
Investors are required to commit to ensuring traffic safety at construction sites; handling black spots and potential traffic accident spots; maintaining and repairing traffic infrastructure, to be completed before August 31, 2023.
Assign the City Police to increase forces and means of patrolling, inspecting, controlling, and handling violations of traffic safety and order on roads and inland waterways, especially passenger transport activities. Develop plans and arrange permanent forces to rescue, treat victims, and overcome the consequences of traffic accidents.
The City Traffic Safety Committee will coordinate with departments, branches and People's Committees of districts to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of traffic safety laws, build traffic culture in public areas, bus stations and tourist destinations in the city during the September 2 holiday.
