People choose OCOP Lang Son products.
Implementing the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025 on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and infringement of intellectual property rights, Lang Son province has strengthened inspection and control, detecting many cases of production and trading of counterfeit goods, fake goods, and goods of unknown origin.
Resolutely prevent commercial fraud
In the first 6 months of 2025, the authorities inspected and handled 2,544 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and banned goods (equal to 70.51% compared to the same period in 2024); sanctioned 2,350 cases of administrative violations (equal to 83.45% compared to the same period in 2024). The total amount of administrative violations handled was more than 73 billion VND (equal to 324.65% compared to the same period in 2024).
In particular, during the peak period from May 15 to June 15, the authorities inspected and handled 591 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and banned goods (135.24% compared to May 2025; 105.91% compared to the same period in 2024); sanctioned 565 administrative violations (138.48% compared to May 2025; 106.4% compared to the same period in 2024). The total amount of administrative violations handled was more than 6.4 billion VND (134.43% compared to May 2025; 153.21% compared to the same period in 2024).
With the drastic intervention of functional forces, the domestic market situation in Lang Son province is basically stable, with no price increases, price gouging, hoarding, shortages of goods, or spreading false information causing market disruption.
In addition, Lang Son province recorded no major or complicated violations related to food safety and product quality in the area; the investment and business environment and import and export activities through the area continued to receive attention and favorable conditions; the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and legal producers and businesses continued to be protected, contributing to stabilizing domestic production and prices.
It is worth mentioning that among the cases detected and handled, there are many cases related to the trading and transportation of food of unknown origin, poor quality on a large scale and in large quantities.
Recently, on May 20, Market Management Team No. 6, Lang Son Market Management Department coordinated with PC03 Department of the Provincial Police to discover a truck with license plate 12A-109.30 driven by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Suu (residing in the old Cao Loc district). Through inspection and search, it was discovered that in the cargo compartment of the vehicle there were 1,500 kg of chicken feet contained in 100 pineapple sacks, on the packaging of the goods there were no labels, writings or information showing the origin of the goods. Market Management Team No. 6 temporarily detained all the violating goods to conduct investigation, verify information and handle according to the provisions of law.
OCOP products create trust
Not only does it create a healthy business environment, ensure economic security and social safety for the people, more importantly, when commercial fraud is discovered, it also creates positive signals of change in people's awareness and consumption trends.
Ms. Hoang Thi Huyen in Dong Kinh Ward shared: In the past, when shopping, I often paid little attention to the origin of the product. Recently, many cases related to the production and trading of fake food have been discovered, making me very confused and indignant. I prioritize buying OCOP products of the province, because the products have been certified by the authorities and clearly state the place of production and expiration date.
The peak period of fighting against smuggling, preventing counterfeit goods and trade fraud has created a large space, contributing to promoting the domestic consumer market; in which, OCOP products with clear origin and source are of interest to consumers. This has opened up opportunities for production and business establishments to affirm product quality, strengthen marketing, and increase revenue.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hanh, owner of a store introducing and selling OCOP products in Luong Van Tri ward, said: The store is selling more than 100 OCOP products of the province. In the face of the widespread situation of fake and poor quality food, the store has recorded an increase in the number of customers coming to shop. On average, the store welcomes about 80-100 customers per day, and revenue has also increased by about 20% compared to the end of 2024.
According to statistics, in Lang Son province, there are currently 214 products certified with 3-star and 4-star OCOP, of which 142 products are still valid for 36 months according to regulations. These are all products recognized for quality, ensuring food safety conditions.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mau Son Green Entrance Joint Stock Company: Lang Son province has many advantages in terms of raw materials, especially agricultural products and medicinal plants. Enterprises should take advantage of this peak period, promote the process of monitoring and quality control, thereby affirming the transparency of the products, further attracting the choice of consumers.
With the desire to build a healthy competitive market and maintain the brand of local products, the Provincial Market Management Department has directed professional teams to strengthen propaganda, inspection and market control of production and business establishments in the area, with special attention paid to inspecting OCOP products. Through inspection, the market management force has not detected any violations related to OCOP products. "In the coming time, the department will continue to direct teams to review and inspect production and business establishments of OCOP products; at the same time, resolutely and strictly handle violations to create deterrence", emphasized Mr. Dang Van Ngoc, Head of the Provincial Market Management Department.
In the coming time, functional units will continue to coordinate well in propaganda work to raise awareness for the whole society; train and foster OCOP subjects; develop new OCOP products in parallel with maintaining and improving the quality of products that have been assigned stars and upgrading the products.
In addition, Lang Son province has directed relevant sectors to focus on improving the quantity and quality of products, paying special attention to ensuring food hygiene and safety, maintaining the identity of the province's typical products; doing a good job of supporting OCOP entities in terms of capital, infrastructure, digital transformation, and premises to promote and introduce products ■
