On July 28 and 29, the Son La Provincial Military Party Committee successfully organized the 18th Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Lieutenant General Pham Duc Duyen, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 2 attended and directed the congress.

Delegates participated in voting to elect the 18th Provincial Military Party Executive Committee.

Attending the congress were comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province; leaders of the General Staff of Military Region 2 and 205 delegates representing nearly 1,400 party members of 9 grassroots party organizations in the entire Provincial Military Party Committee.

In the 2020-2025 term, the Son La Provincial Military Party Committee has thoroughly grasped and effectively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Son La Province to lead the implementation of military and national defense tasks associated with socio-economic development, building a national defense posture, people's security and a peaceful , cooperative and developed border.

The Son La Provincial Military Party Committee has directed the successful organization of drills at the provincial, district and grassroots levels, with 100% achieving excellent and excellent results and ensuring absolute safety. The work of building the standing force, militia and reserve forces has been focused on, completing 100% of the recruitment targets and calling citizens to join the army.

The armed forces are ready to fight, trained seriously; actively participated in disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, and built local political bases.

Entering the 2025-2030 term, the Son La Provincial Military Party Committee set the goal of building an all-people national defense associated with a solid people's security posture, all-people border defense, and "people's hearts posture".

The Son La Provincial Military Party Committee strives to maintain the militia and self-defense force at 2% or more of the population; improve the quality of the reserve force; ensure 100% of the annual recruitment target; effectively implement the digital transformation program, build "digital units" and "digital soldiers".

Strive for 100% of cadres and soldiers to have strong political will, party organizations and party members to fulfill their tasks well, and annually admit 150-200 party members.

At the Congress, delegates discussed and contributed many enthusiastic opinions to the documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress and the draft political report of the Executive Committee submitted to the 16th Son La Provincial Party Congress.

The Congress also reviewed and objectively evaluated the Party's leadership results in the past term and proposed directions, goals and solutions for the next term.

The Congress announced the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee appointing comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee for the 18th term; comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet to participate in the Executive Committee of the Provincial Military Party Committee for the new term.

The Congress launched the Executive Committee of the Military Party Committee of Son La province, term XVIII.

Promoting the spirit of democracy and responsibility, the Congress elected a Party Executive Committee of 21 comrades. The first meeting of the 18th Provincial Military Party Executive Committee elected the Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary, Inspection Committee and Chairman of the Party Inspection Committee.

The congress also elected 9 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 16th Son La Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
