The event took place in Hanoi within the framework of the National Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation for the 2019–2030 period (VNEEP 3).
This marks the halfway point of the implementation of the VNEEP 3 program – one of the important programs to realize the goal of sustainable development, green growth and Vietnam's commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 at the COP 26, COP 27 and COP 28 Conferences.

Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade , emphasized the essential role of saving energy and electricity in both the short and long term, especially in the context of global energy supply instability. Mr. Dung said that saving electricity not only contributes to environmental protection and reducing supply pressure but is also a strategic solution to ensure national energy security.
2025 is an important milestone when the VNEEP 3 program reaches the halfway point with the goal of saving 7-10% of total energy consumption by 2030. Mr. Dung also said that in the process of transforming the development model towards green and low carbon emissions, energy saving is the most practical and feasible solution.
In particular, Mr. Dung emphasized that the media plays a pivotal role, the "key" to changing perceptions and behaviors throughout society. According to Mr. Dung, the press not only needs to master techniques but also needs to tell engaging stories that are close to life.

At the conference, reporters and editors were updated with the latest information on policies and laws related to energy saving, an overview of the results of the implementation of the VNEEP 3 program over the past time, as well as exchanged journalistic skills in the energy sector - which is considered dry and difficult to access.
Experienced experts and speakers directly shared information, experience and effective communication solutions.
Dr. Duong Trung Kien - Vice President of the University of Electricity introduced effective models and solutions in using energy economically and efficiently in sustainable development. For businesses, solutions for using energy economically and efficiently.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Lan, Head of the Environment and Sustainable Development Department, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), said that the press plays a particularly important role in spreading the message of saving electricity. Ms. Lan emphasized that in the context of many challenges posed by energy security and climate change, saving electricity is not only a technical solution but also the beginning of transforming the development model. According to Ms. Lan, changing social behavior requires changing awareness and that cannot be done without the strong participation of the press.

EVN has implemented many effective energy saving programs, closely coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, authorities at all levels and the press to disseminate synchronously and extensively. The results achieved show that the press is not only an information channel, but also a force that creates trust, inspires and creates widespread behavioral changes in the community.
At the end of the training session, reporters and editors visited the EVN building - a typical building recognized as a green energy facility in Hanoi and won first prize in the renovation category at the "Energy Efficiency in Construction Works 2024" Award.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade hopes that, with the enthusiastic and professional support of the press team, communication in the field of economical and efficient energy use will increasingly spread strongly, contributing to building a modern, civilized and sustainable energy consuming society.
