The market has become an ideal destination for students and locals who want to hunt for quality items at “cheap” prices to celebrate Tet. Many items here are priced from only 10,000 VND.
Ms. Doan Thi Thu, a vendor at the market, shared: “On normal days, the most customers come to buy goods from 3-5pm. Near Tet, customers buy until late at night. Because the goods are cheap and have the same price, buying and selling is quick, convenient, and there is no haggling.”
The customers of the furniture area are diverse, from workers who want to save money, to young people who love to hunt for unique fashion items.
According to My Duyen (a student at Da Nang University of Education), with only 100,000 VND, she was able to buy everything, saving money and having fun. However, customers must be quick, sharp-eyed and have a little luck. There are items worth millions at fashion stores, but here they only cost a few tens of thousands.
“There are still very high-quality items at the second-hand stalls. However, because they are used items, buyers need to be careful to wash them thoroughly before using them to ensure hygiene,” My Duyen shared.
Meanwhile, Pham Quynh Huong (Lien Chieu district) after looking at the sweater she had just found and found something she liked, immediately gave it to her friend to hold for her. She quickly turned back to try her luck searching through the pile of 30,000 VND worth of items, hoping to find more items she liked.
“I often go shopping for secondhand items at markets and secondhand stores. There are items that are as beautiful as new, and the prices are cheap. Every time I go shopping for secondhand items, I find a few items to bring home, just be patient and check carefully to avoid defective items. Like today, at least I chose a nice sweater to wear during Tet,” Huong happily said.
The trend of using secondhand clothes is being loved by many young people not only because of its low price, diverse styles but also because it minimizes negative impacts on the environment.
