According to forecasts in the period of 2021 - 2025, the average growth rate of commercial electricity in the province is 8.27%/year and the largest capacity by 2025 Pmax reaches 979MW, commercial electricity reaches 5,885 million kWh. To meet the electricity needs of customers, in recent times, the Electricity industry has coordinated with competent agencies to implement a plan to develop the power grid in accordance with the demand of the annual increase in load.
In recent years, Ha Nam Power Company (PC Ha Nam) has always closely followed the local development situation, promptly invested in developing the power grid, fully meeting the electricity demand for socio -economic development in the area. However, at some points, electricity supply still faces difficulties. Specifically, in the months of May - June 2023, due to the impact of the El Nino phenomenon, hot weather, drought, and water shortage seriously affected hydroelectric reservoirs, and at the same time, the load in the North increased dramatically due to rising temperatures, so it had to reduce and adjust the load capacity. Faced with this situation, the Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches and sectors in the province to coordinate and regulate capacity; effectively carry out the propaganda of electricity saving, contributing to ensuring the safe operation of the national power system.
According to the plan of the province for the period of 2021 - 2030, the whole province will establish 14 new industrial parks with a total area of over 4,250 hectares; establish and expand 14 industrial clusters with a total area of over 800 hectares, which will lead to a very large growth rate of commercial electricity. To ensure the electricity demand of customers, the electricity industry is investing according to the Power Development Plan of Ha Nam province for the period of 2016 - 2025, taking into account 2035; investing according to the 110kV power system development plan approved by the Minister of Industry and Trade in Decision No. 1446/QD-BCT dated April 13, 2016. The planning and construction ensure balanced and harmonious development, taking into account the synchronization between source development and the power grid to supply the load with the best quality, meeting the socio-economic development needs of the province. Up to now, the 110kV power system is being invested and built relatively modernly to meet the annual load growth demand.
Mr. Ngo Quoc Huy, Director of PC Ha Nam said: In addition to the growth of industrial load, the strong development of urban areas, commercial areas, tourism and other services is also developing at a high speed, leading to a very large demand for electricity at present and in the future in the province. The growth of load leads to the 110kV grid often having to operate at full load. In order to promptly meet the electricity needs of customers, the electricity industry has implemented investment plans, renovating and upgrading the transmission grid, 110kV substations to ensure sufficient power source, power quality, meeting the electricity demand of all economic sectors to serve the socio-economic development goals of the province. In particular, with the attention and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the electricity sector has proactively and promptly coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize research, develop projects, and submit to competent authorities to adjust the electricity development plan to meet the high growth of electricity load in accordance with the socio-economic development reality of the province.
In the coming time, with the contents of the adjusted power grid development planning, approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it is the basis for the electricity industry to accelerate the progress of organizing and implementing power projects to increasingly modernize the grid system, further meeting the standards of smart grid, reliability, safety, flexibility, and power quality. To ensure the development of the power grid in accordance with the needs of customers in each period, in the coming time, the electricity industry has requested the province to direct: relevant units to supplement and correct the planning dossier of Ha Nam province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, ensuring accurate and complete updates of interconnected power grid projects (including the 500-220kV transmission grid and distribution grid) in the provincial power grid development plan, in accordance with the power grid development plan according to the planning of neighboring provinces.
For the period from now to 2035, it is recommended that the Provincial People's Committee consider the orientation for developing the 110kV grid based on the principle of updating the project according to the provincial 110kV grid development plan for the period 2016-2025, taking into account the year 2035, and adjusting and supplementing new grid projects in accordance with the power supply needs for loads in the regions; supplementing the schematic diagram and map of the power supply network development plan for each 5-year period; in which fully showing the locations of power source projects, transformer stations and the routes of transmission and distribution lines in the province in accordance with and in sync with the development plan of other infrastructure sectors.
