Immediately after launching the Tree Planting Festival, localities, units, businesses and people in the province actively and proactively implemented the 2025 forest planting plan with the goal of quickly recovering the forest area damaged by storm No. 3 in 2024, restoring sustainable forestry production.
During these days, taking advantage of favorable weather, Tien Yen Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. has increased its forces to implement the 2025 forest planting plan. With the goal of planting 700 hectares of production forest, when the storm passes, the Company will collect the fallen forest area, clear the ground cover, prepare the site and have arranged 200 hectares of spring forest planting; direct nurseries to focus on sowing and caring for about 2.5 million high-quality acacia seedlings to serve the unit's forest planting production activities; launch the Tree Planting Festival in the entire unit, implement spring forest planting and the 2025 forest planting plan.
According to Mr. Tang Van Hai, Deputy Director of Tien Yen Forestry One Member Co., Ltd., up to now, the unit has planted about 30% of the plan, about 50 hectares of acacia, an estimated 160,000 trees. For the remaining area, the unit is striving to complete it in June 2025. It is expected that the unit will be able to plant about 60% of the forest area affected by storm No. 3 in the spring crop of 2025. For the protective forest area, due to the large amount of damage (nearly 3,000 hectares), the Company has developed a plan to liquidate the forest. The unit is submitting it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval and appraisal, after which the unit will carry out the steps to liquidate, collect, clear the entire area and prepare resources and seedlings to restore the damaged forest area.
Many households in the area also quickly restored the forest area affected by storm No. 3. Mr. Ha Van Thanh (Lang Nhoi village, Dong Hai commune, Tien Yen district) said: His family had 3 hectares of acacia trees that were completely damaged in storm No. 3. Right from the first days of spring 2025, the family started clearing the ground cover, preparing for spring forest planting. Up to now, 2 hectares have been planted, the family will try to complete the remaining area in January 2025.
In order to quickly overcome the damaged forest area, restore production forests and protection forests, the province also directed localities and units to immediately implement support policies to restore the forestry sector. In particular, directing sectors, units and localities to pay attention to and focus on reforestation. In 2025, Quang Ninh province strives to plant nearly 32,000 hectares of concentrated forests, including 2,724 hectares of protection forests and 29,123 hectares of production forests, a large number exceeding about 300% compared to 2024 and previous years. This demonstrates the province's high determination in developing and restoring forestry production after storms, raising the forest cover rate to over 42%.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Duy Van said: Implementing the 2025 forest planting plan, up to now, with the active participation of units, localities and people in the area, the whole province has planted nearly 800 hectares of concentrated forests with about 800,000 trees of various types such as acacia, lim, lat, giổi... The unit continues to advise the province to deploy the appraisal and approval work for units that have completed damage reporting files, quickly appraise and issue decisions so that units can soon liquidate and replant protective forests with about 3,000 hectares.
