The Vietnam Trade Union Congress took place from December 1-3, 2023, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi . It was attended by 1,100 official delegates representing 11 million union members nationwide.
The congress is expected to discuss three breakthroughs: strengthening dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest periods, and occupational safety and health; focusing on developing union membership and establishing grassroots trade unions in non-state-owned enterprises; and building a team of grassroots trade union chairpersons capable of meeting the requirements of the task, especially chairpersons in non-state-owned enterprises.
Compared to previous congresses, the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union has many new features in its organization, such as: opening 10 thematic forums to discuss and propose initiatives on 10 major issues facing the trade union organization; strengthening the application of digital technology in organizing and serving the congress; designing and operating a mobile application for the congress to provide information, documents, and facilitate exchange and interaction with delegates. The artistic program is meticulously invested in terms of content and utilizes modern technology to create highlights. Programs celebrating the success of the congress will be integrated with activities caring for workers.
