Affected by the Northeast wind, the Kien Giang sea area has gusts of level 7-8, high-speed boats to Phu Quoc and Nam Du have stopped running since November 18.
Kien Giang Maritime Port Authority has announced the suspension of high-speed inland ferries to Phu Quoc, Nam Du and vice versa until further notice. However, nearby routes to Hon Tre and Hon Son (Kien Hai district) are still operating normally.

According to some tourists, today Phu Quoc has clear weather but the wind is quite strong. The ship stopped and they could not return to the mainland as planned, but they could continue their sightseeing in the clear weather.
Phu Quoc Island is located in the southwest, 120 km east of Rach Gia city and 45 km west of Ha Tien city. There are more than 30 high-speed ferry trips from the mainland to Phu Quoc every day. Tickets that have been purchased will be refunded or changed for passengers.
According to the forecast of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of the Northeast wind, the offshore sea area from Ba Ria - Vung Tau to Ca Mau will have strong Northeast wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough sea.
The agency also warned that ships and boats in the southern sea area are at high risk of being affected by thunderstorms, big waves, tornadoes and strong winds.
