Canadian Navy ship pays friendly visit to Da Nang city.

On May 15th, the Canadian Navy's HMCS Charlottetown, led by Vice Admiral Angus Topshee and carrying 257 officers and sailors, docked at Tien Sa Port, beginning a friendly visit to Da Nang city from May 15-18, 2026.

The delegation included several high-ranking officials from the Canadian government , including representatives at the level of Deputy Minister and equivalent.

Welcoming the delegation at Tien Sa port were representatives from the Command of Naval Region 3, the Military Command of Da Nang City, the Border Guard Command of Da Nang City, the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port, the Foreign Affairs Department of the 5th Military Region Command, along with representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs ( Ministry of National Defense ) and the Navy.

The visit aims to contribute to strengthening the friendly and mutually trusting relationship between the two countries, in line with the policy of promoting the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Canada.

During their stay in Da Nang, the delegation will pay courtesy calls to the leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee, the 5th Military Region Command, and the 3rd Naval Region Command; participate in professional exchanges and sports activities with Vietnamese Navy officers; interact at the University of Economics - Da Nang University; visit the Center for the Protection of Victims of Agent Orange and Poor and Unfortunate Children in the city; and tour local cultural and tourist sites.
