Many disadvantaged households in Tan My commune received support to build new houses on the occasion of the Military and People's Tet and the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival this year. |
Years ago, Ms. Thach Thi Hang’s family (in My Thuan hamlet, Tan My commune) was a poor household, without any land for production. Although her family always worked hard and tried to save money, they still did not have enough money to repair the house that had been damaged and degraded, always in a state of leaking rain and sunlight for many years. The dream of a solid, intact house was far away for her family, when it was difficult to worry about daily food and clothing, let alone repairing or rebuilding the house.
This year, the province supported the Quan Dan Tet with 50 million VND to build a new house, and her family borrowed an additional 10 million VND to build a more solid house. Having a solid home, Ms. Hang's family could not hide their emotions.
She said the old house was very run down, she didn’t dare to live there, especially when it rained. Now the government gave us 50 million to build a house, my husband and I borrowed another 10 million from relatives to make the house more spacious. With a new house, my husband, wife and children are very happy, now we try to work hard to compete with others.
This year, on the occasion of the Military-Civilian Tet in Tan My commune, Tra On district mobilized organizations and individuals to contribute 850 million VND to support the construction of 17 charity houses and solidarity houses to support poor households and households with housing difficulties, including Khmer and Kinh people in the commune.
To save costs for a more spacious house, many families also contribute to the construction, only hiring more workers for difficult stages. It is the attention of organizations and individuals that has given families strength and confidence to strive to improve their lives, to welcome the Military-Civilian New Year, the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay 2023 joyfully, peacefully and happily.
Ms. Thach Thi Tha Rin (living in My Thuan hamlet, Tan My commune) used to dream of having money to rebuild a solid house, to live in peace. Now, the State supports her to build a spacious house. She is very happy to spend Tet in a new house. Now that she has a house, her family will try to make a living to be more prosperous.
According to Ms. Thach Thi So Ra Da - Vice President of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan My commune, the new houses handed over during the Military-Civilian Tet, the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay Tet of the Khmer ethnic group have great significance in order to give our people the conditions to celebrate the traditional Tet in peace, togetherness and prosperity.
The new, spacious and solid houses not only spread the warm and loving atmosphere of the military-civilian relationship, but also create conditions for people to feel secure in working and producing, developing the economy , escaping poverty and stabilizing their lives.
