Vietnamese communities in many countries welcome the Year of the Dragon 2024 with many diverse and attractive activities and festivals. Perhaps the most bustling is the Vietnamese community in the US.
During the days before Tet, Vietnamese markets in the US are bustling with spring colors, selling many traditional dishes.
Wtop News described the shopping atmosphere at Eden, the largest Vietnamese shopping center in the Northeast United States located in Falls Church (Virginia), last weekend.
Cars drove in and out of the parking lots in front and behind the mall, while shoppers moved from one specialty store to another. Wtop News interviewed several shoppers who said they were preparing for family reunions this weekend.

Meanwhile, more than 100 students, lecturers... gathered to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024 organized by the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith (Fort Smith City, Arkansas State - USA) early on February 2.
Everyone enjoyed traditional Vietnamese cuisine, games, music , fashion shows and dancing. The Tet celebration ended with a dragon dance performance by members of the Shom Line Dance group.

The Vietnamese community in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA also celebrated Lunar New Year early last weekend with many interesting performances such as lion dances.
The Lunar New Year festival of the Vietnamese community in Seattle - USA also took place with bright colors, traditional foods and joy.
The Seattle Center website – where the festival is held – writes: "Over two days (February 3 and 4), attendees will get a glimpse of the spirit and traditions of Vietnam through art, music, hands-on experiences and unique performances."
Besides traditional cuisine and lion dances, the highlight of the Spring Festival is the Ao Dai performance. Wearing Ao Dai during the Lunar New Year is a beautiful cultural feature of the Vietnamese people, according to the Seattle Center website.
Meanwhile, many generations of the Vietnamese community in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA celebrated the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year on February 4. People gathered at Cedars Banquet Hall in Springfield, wearing traditional holiday costumes to mark this special occasion.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno holds a card that reads "Happy New Year" as he participates in a prayer service to wish for good health, prosperity and blessings in the Year of the Dragon 2024.
According to masslive.com , the highlight is the Ao Dai performance by children aged 10 and under. There are also many singing and dancing performances by teenagers, lion dance performances, etc.
For Vietnamese people in Australia in general, and for the Vietnamese community in Melbourne in particular, going to the Tet fair is an annual traditional activity.
Overseas Vietnamese in Melbourne are immersed in the Spring atmosphere with a series of fairs: Footscray Tet Fair (January 14), St. Albans Tet Fair (January 21), Sunshine Tet Festival (January 28), Richmond Tet Fair (February 4), Springvale Tet Fair (February 4), Quang Minh Pagoda Tet Fair (February 9), Vietnamese Community Tet Festival at Footscray Park (February 17, 18).

Joining in the spring atmosphere, the Vietnamese community in Toronto, Vancouver, and Kitchener, Canada, also organizes many Tet fairs with lots of fun and delicious food.
