How many days off do workers get for Lunar New Year 2024?

On November 22, 2023, the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Notice 5015/TB-LDTBXH 2023 on Lunar New Year holidays 2024 for cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees as follows:

Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have the Lunar New Year 2024 holiday from Thursday, February 8, 2024 (ie December 29, Quy Mao year) to Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (ie January 5, Giap Thin year).

This holiday includes 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 2 days off in lieu of Saturday and Sunday.

For employees who do not fall into the above cases, the employer decides to choose one of the following Lunar New Year holiday options:

- Choose 1 last day of the year of Quy Mao (2023) and the first 4 days of the year of Giap Thin (2024).

- Choose the last 2 days of the year of Quy Mao (2023) and the first 3 days of the year of Giap Thin (2024).

- Choose the last 3 days of the year of Quy Mao (2023) and the first 2 days of the year of Giap Thin (2024).
