In 2023, Vietnam achieved encouraging results in digital transformation. The national digital transformation index (DTI) in 2022 reached 0.7111, an increase of 16.4% compared to 2021 and an increase of 46.4% compared to 2020. Notably, 80,698 community digital technology groups were established in 63/63 provinces and cities, an increase of 11,765 groups compared to 2022, showing the strong spread of digital transformation to each locality.

In addition, Vietnam's digital economic growth rate is considered the fastest in Southeast Asia for two consecutive years, with growth of 28% in 2022 and 19% in 2023, 3.5 times higher than the GDP growth rate.

Despite many achievements, the digital transformation process in Vietnam's industry still faces many challenges. Some businesses still lack awareness of the importance of digital transformation, leading to inadequate investment in technology and digital infrastructure. In addition, high-quality human resources in the information technology sector are still limited, making it difficult to deploy digital solutions.

Furthermore, integrating digital technology into the production process requires changes in business and management models, which is not easy for many businesses, especially SMEs. The lack of synchronization in technology infrastructure and connectivity between businesses is also a major barrier to implementing comprehensive digital transformation.

To overcome the above challenges, it is necessary to synchronously deploy the following solutions:

Raising awareness and training human resources : Organizing training programs and seminars to raise awareness of the importance of digital transformation for leaders and employees in the enterprise. At the same time, promoting training of high-quality human resources in the field of information technology and digital management.

Investing in technology infrastructure: Building and upgrading information technology infrastructure, ensuring smooth and secure connections between departments within the business as well as with partners and customers.

Government support: The government needs to issue policies to support businesses in the digital transformation process, such as tax incentives, financial support and technical advice. At the same time, build a clear legal framework to facilitate the application of digital technology in production and business.

International cooperation: Strengthen cooperation with international partners to learn from experience, access advanced technology and expand the market for digital industrial products.

With the efforts of the government and the business community, digital transformation in Vietnam's industry is making steady progress. The application of digital technology not only helps improve production efficiency and reduce costs, but also opens up opportunities to access global markets and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises.

In the future, continuing to promote digital transformation will help Vietnam's industry catch up with world development trends, contribute positively to economic growth and improve people's quality of life.

Digital transformation in Vietnam’s industry is an inevitable trend and brings many great benefits. However, to achieve success, it requires close coordination between the government, businesses and stakeholders in implementing synchronous solutions, overcoming challenges and taking advantage of opportunities brought by digital technology./.
