Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung directed to remove all temporary houses for people before August 31.

As of early July 2025, the above temporary houses have not yet been started in 37 communes in mountainous, remote areas with difficult access and many ethnic minorities. The difficulties and obstacles are mainly due to the complex terrain and high mountains, making it difficult to transport materials and increasing prices; many poor households are unable to respond; limited community support; the concept of starting construction on a good day and at a good age; some local Party committees, authorities and households are not determined to eliminate temporary houses.

Determined to basically eliminate these temporary houses before August 31, including eliminating all temporary houses for people with meritorious services before July 27 to ensure social security and gradually stabilize people's lives, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Thai Nguyen province organized a conference with functional departments, branches and 37 localities with temporary and dilapidated houses in the province to discuss urgent solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Thai Nguyen Province Trinh Viet Hung directed: “Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a humane and compassionate act, and is the responsibility of the Party Committee and the government towards the people, so the entire political system and the people of all ethnic groups in the province need to be united, unanimous, more determined, more creative, and more urgent to complete this important political task, in which the Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of the communes, and members of the Steering Committee must uphold the spirit of responsibility with new determination, new methods, and approaches suitable to reality”.

The Commune Steering Committee must make more efforts and be more determined in propagating and mobilizing households that are subject to the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses but have not registered, and must report accurate data no later than July 10 to have timely solutions; after August 31, if any commune has a case of temporary and dilapidated houses that needs to be removed but is not supported, the head of the Party Committee and local government must take responsibility.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Secretary and the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Thai Nguyen Province, on July 5 and 6, the province organized 16 working groups to inspect and urge the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs in the area and local people.

Inspecting the reality and working with Thanh Mai commune, one of the highland communes with a large ethnic minority population, 23 households have dilapidated houses that have not yet started construction, 37 households have dilapidated houses that do not need to be removed in 2025 due to lack of counterpart funds and high material prices, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son directed that local Party committees and authorities need to strengthen propaganda, mobilization, closely follow each household, mobilize local resources and human resources to join hands and support the start of removing temporary and dilapidated houses remaining in the area before July 15.

In Cho Ra commune, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Dinh Quang Tuyen requested that leaders of the Party Committee, authorities, and civil servants must go to each village and group to clarify the reasons for each case of temporary and dilapidated houses that have not been registered for implementation, have been registered but are unable to respond, or have other problems in order to have the most specific, practical, and effective solutions.

Although after the province's merger, the implementation of the 2-level local government model is still full of work that needs to be resolved, Thai Nguyen province considers the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy families and people as a top priority, so it is urgently directing to complete this important political task in the coming time.
