God of Wealth knocks on the door, episode 798: The dream of reunion of a blind, single mother

Despite being blind and living alone with three young children, Thai Thi Ngan still strongly protects her children and never gives up. With 1000 years of experience playing hopscotch, God of Wealth still lost to God of Earth because of an "accidental slip" that forced God of Wealth to accept defeat and follow God of Earth's request to conjure up a big house, a stack of student cloth and 50 student notebooks.

And those gifts are the heart that Tho Dia Vinh Long wants to give to Ms. Thai Thi Ngan - a single blind mother who is raising 3 young children.

Thinking about her life, Ms. Ngan could not hide her sadness. Ms. Ngan was born normally but at 3 months old contracted a rash fever that left her blind in both eyes.

When Ngan was 9 months old, her parents divorced and each had their own family, so Ngan grew up in her grandmother's arms. When Ngan was 15, her grandmother passed away due to a serious illness, and Ngan went to live with her biological mother.

At the age of 21, Ms. Ngan got married to a healthy man. She thought that her life would end with sad days because she had her husband by her side. However, when her daughter Bao Tran was in first grade and her son Van Thien had just started kindergarten, Ms. Ngan's husband suddenly passed away.

Ms. Ngan confided: When I first got divorced, life was very difficult, there was not enough rice to eat. I had to leave my two children at home with my grandmother so that my mother could go to learn massage and work to earn money to support her life. After learning the profession, someone introduced me to work in Binh Duong, and I could only come back to visit my children every few months. After that, I worked but missed my children so much, every time I came back to visit my children, it was far away and I couldn't take care of them when they were sick, so I asked to go back to Ben Tre . There was a time when I also worked as a massage therapist, but there were very few customers, sometimes there was only one customer a day, so I asked to go to school to learn how to tie brooms to earn more income to take care of my children.

Ms. Ngan works as a masseuse, learns how to bind brooms, and sells lottery tickets in her spare time. Ms. Ngan never misses any opportunity to make a living because she still has the future of her three children on her shoulders. However, perhaps this mother cannot bear it because life is too difficult.

So 5 years later, Ms. Ngan married a blind colleague to make the home warmer and her children have someone to protect them.

However, the happiness did not last long, when the youngest son Dang Khoi was just 2 years old, his father also passed away. Ms. Ngan was left alone with 3 foolish children, lost in the midst of a difficult life.

Unable to watch her mother work hard alone, Ms. Ngan's eldest daughter, Bao Tran, was only 17 years old when she dropped out of school to go to Ho Chi Minh City to work as a maid to help her mother raise her younger siblings.

Bao Tran worked as a maid in Ho Chi Minh City for about 3 months and was able to come home to visit her mother and siblings.

Bao Tran confided: “I saw my mother working hard but not having enough to eat. Sometimes Thien and Khoi had to eat for free, so I asked my mother to let me quit school and go to work. My job is to take care of the elderly. I save money to send home for my mother to take care of my siblings.”

Heartbroken when her daughter sacrificed her future to take care of her siblings, Ms. Ngan tried even harder to make a living. After finishing her job as a broom maker in her hometown, she traveled to Ben Tre (old) to rent a house to sell lottery tickets.

Every week, she returned to Chau Hoa to visit Thien and Khoi. When their mother was away, Thien and Khoi relied on each other for every meal and sleep, taking care of each other while waiting for their mother to return.

Thien and Khoi depend on each other when their mother is away from home making a living.

Thien shared: “When Mom left, she left money at home to go to the market to buy food for me to cook, take care of my younger sibling, and take him to school. Mom told me that if I was short of money, I should just buy on credit and then when I came back, I would pay her back. I saw that Mom was having a hard time, if I bought on credit, I would have a lot of debt, so when I was in a tight spot, I would go to the field to pick vegetables to cook for the two of us. I missed Mom when she was far away, I just wanted her to stay home, but the family was so poor that she had to go to work and I had to accept it. I could only wait, because if I kept asking Mom to stay home, it would be very difficult.”

During the past 2 years, the time that Ms. Ngan and her 4 children were able to reunite was only a few times. Ms. Ngan's biggest dream at the moment is to have the conditions to develop the broom-binding profession in her hometown to be close to her children and, more importantly, to take care of her children's future so that it would be brighter than hers.
