The training course, held over four days (from September 9th to 12th), will provide 80 officers from various agencies and units within the Provincial Border Guard Command with training on seven topics: an overview of Vietnam's ethnic minorities; the Party's viewpoints, policies, and guidelines on ethnic issues and ethnic affairs; laws and policies of the State on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas; building a strong political system at the grassroots level in ethnic minority areas; State management of the culture of ethnic minorities; national defense and security in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; and the Army's participation in resolving complex incidents.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Doan Dinh Tranh, Deputy Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized: “Training and updating knowledge about ethnic groups for officers and professional soldiers is of paramount importance. This helps officers improve their understanding of the customs and traditions of ethnic minorities in border and island areas; on that basis, they can better fulfill their assigned responsibilities and duties, closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, and organizations to effectively implement ethnic policies, and consolidate national unity. At the same time, it contributes to improving skills in handling situations related to ethnic issues in the area, doing a good job of propaganda and mobilization of the masses, and actively participating with the people in managing and protecting territorial sovereignty , maintaining political security and social order, and promoting socio-economic development in border and island areas in the new situation.”
