After reviewing the supply of drugs to support the treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease, Immunoglobulin and Phenobarbital, the Drug Administration of Vietnam said that for drugs containing Immunoglobulin, there are 13 drugs containing Immunoglobulin that have been granted valid circulation registration certificates in Vietnam.
According to the importer's report, the number of Immunoglobulin drugs in stock and planned to be imported to Vietnam includes Human normal immunoglobulin 100 mg/ml (imported by Zuellig Pharma Vietnam Company) with 2,344 boxes of 250ml and 215 boxes of 50ml. It is expected that in mid-August, the manufacturer will continue to supply Vietnam with 2,000 boxes of 250ml.

Human Immunoglobulin 5% is imported by Duy Anh Pharmaceutical Trading Company Limited. Currently, Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) still has 300 bottles left. It is expected that by the end of July, the manufacturer will supply Vietnam with 5,000-6,000 bottles.
Regarding Phenobarbital, there is currently one type of Phenobarbital manufactured by Danapha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company that has been granted a valid circulation registration certificate in Vietnam.
In addition, this agency has granted permission to Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company CPC1 to import Barbiturate, a drug that has not been registered for circulation in Vietnam, to meet special treatment needs.
The company's report said that 21,000 vials of the drug (Phenobarbital 200 mg/ml) will arrive in Vietnam in early July.

To ensure adequate supply of drugs for treatment, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to develop and implement a plan for reserving, purchasing, and receiving drugs in accordance with reality, ensuring adequate supply of drugs for medical examination and treatment.
In addition, medical examination and treatment facilities proactively contact import facilities to plan, order, purchase and reserve drugs in accordance with regulations.
The Ministry of Health said that since the beginning of the year, the country has recorded nearly 9,000 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, including 3 deaths. In the face of the rapidly increasing epidemic situation, the Ministry of Health requested localities to strengthen hand, foot and mouth disease prevention.
