To achieve the Dien Bien Phu Victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the earth", tens of thousands of people have remained here forever for the noble ideal. Showing gratitude and taking care of people with meritorious services and families with preferential policies is not only a regular political task but also a sacred responsibility of the entire Party, people and army.
On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, with a sense of responsibility and deep gratitude to those who have devoted themselves to the Fatherland, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province organized many practical activities such as visiting and giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids, and people with meritorious services. At the same time, incense and flowers were offered at the martyrs' graves at A1, Tong Khao, Doc Lap, and Him Lam martyrs' cemeteries... to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic sons who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.
Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, said that Dien Bien province currently manages 8 martyr cemeteries with nearly 7,000 graves, with more than 16,000 policy beneficiaries, including people with revolutionary contributions, war invalids, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs.
Promoting the ethics of "Repaying gratitude" and "When drinking water, remember its source", Dien Bien province has implemented many practical activities to help wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and martyrs' families to reduce their pain, have more motivation to improve their lives, and contribute positively to the overall development of the locality. All levels, sectors, and social organizations have actively and promptly implemented policies and regimes according to State regulations, while promoting meaningful gratitude activities.
July - the month of gratitude across the country is a time for generations to express the nation's noble traditions and ethics of "Repaying gratitude" and "Remembering the source of water", and to express deep gratitude to the sacrifices and contributions of martyrs, wounded soldiers, and families of policy beneficiaries.
These days, that tradition is further revived through many meaningful activities for wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions in the heroic homeland of Dien Bien.
Visiting and giving gifts on War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) and other holidays and Tet are focused on with specific activities such as supporting the repair, upgrading and construction of new houses to help families with preferential policies stabilize their lives. Many economic development support programs are effectively implemented to increase income and improve the lives of policy beneficiaries.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province emphasized that Dien Bien province has closely followed the direction of the Central Government to effectively implement the work of caring for policy families and people with meritorious services. Party committees and authorities at all levels always pay attention to and provide timely support to policy families in terms of health, spirit and material through many policies of the State and localities.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Dien Bien province mobilized, organized visits, and presented nearly 6,000 gifts to policy families and meritorious people.
From July 1, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province continues to direct all levels of sectors and localities to maintain and promote the achieved results, and prepare well for activities to care for people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day .
In addition, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is given priority to war invalids and families of policy beneficiaries. To date, 100% of policy beneficiaries have been supported to build solid houses in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction. Thanks to that, currently in Dien Bien , 99.82% of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average of the province.
Dien Bien province also focuses on managing and restoring martyrs' graves, memorial works, and organizing the reception of incense-offering delegations, expressing deep gratitude to those who have contributed to the country.
These specific and practical actions demonstrate the deep gratitude of the Party, State and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province to those who sacrificed and contributed to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
