Thanh Hoa currently has the highest number of communes meeting new rural standards in the country. To achieve this result, we cannot fail to mention the emulation movement of donating land in building new rural areas in the province in recent years.
Mr. Cao Van Cuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province - Chief of the Office of the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination, said that in 2004, although there were still many difficulties and challenges, with the attention of all levels of government, organizations and the consensus and joint efforts of the people, up to now, the whole Thanh Hoa province has 1 more district, 9 communes and 17 mountainous villages meeting the new rural standards; 26 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards; 11 communes and 87 villages meeting the model new rural standards; 74 OCOP products have been recognized.
There is 1 district that is submitting to the Prime Minister for recognition of meeting new rural standards, Hau Loc district, and 2 districts that are submitting to the Central Appraisal Council for meeting and appraisal for recognition of meeting advanced new rural district standards, Tho Xuan and Yen Dinh districts.
Cumulative implementation results (by October 31, 2024), the whole province has 14 district-level units meeting the standards and completing the task of building new rural areas; 369 communes and 760 mountainous villages and hamlets meeting new rural standards; 116 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 27 communes and 537 villages and hamlets meeting model new rural standards; 537 OCOP products have been recognized.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province, up to now, Thanh Hoa has the number of communes meeting the provincial standards that are among the top in the country. Many exemplary models in new rural construction have been deployed and replicated by the Fatherland Front at all levels and socio -political organizations... In particular, out of 27 communes meeting the model new rural standards in the whole province, there are up to 9 communes with outstanding fields in digital transformation.
Mr. Cao Van Cuong said that to achieve the above results, it is impossible not to mention the emulation movement of land donation in building new rural areas in the province in recent years.
For example, some districts have issued their own policies on donating land to expand rural roads, typically Trieu Son, Ha Trung, Thieu Hoa districts..., thereby contributing to speeding up the progress of building new rural areas in localities.
In the period of 2021 - 2024 alone, people in the province donated nearly 1.5 million m2 (of which, residential land was more than 600,000 m2, other land was nearly 900,000 m2); relocated and demolished about 650 residential houses (worth more than 57 billion VND); demolished more than 2,400 fences, gates, yards, toilets, etc., worth more than 90 billion VND.
In addition, people in the province also contributed more than 640 billion VND in cash and more than 590,000 working days (worth about 202 billion VND) to rebuild the surrounding walls, new public works as well as expand and modernize the rural transport system.
