In the period of 2019-2024, Thanh Oai district has 126 OCOP products evaluated and classified in 20/21 communes and towns. Of which, 35 products achieved 3 stars, 91 products achieved 4 stars. Many typical products associated with craft villages, traditional culture and local endemic agricultural products have affirmed their quality and competitiveness.

Typical examples include Hoang Long Cooperative (Tan Uoc Commune) with 9 meat products achieving 4-star OCOP; Tam Hung Cooperative with specialty rice varieties such as Bac Thom No. 7, Nep Cai Hoa Vang, Dai Thom 8; Bich Hoa Cooperative with traditional vermicelli and rice rolls; Kim An Cooperative with Kim An guava products achieving 4 stars. These are all products with thorough investment in quality, packaging and traceability.

To promote consumption, from 2023 to present, Thanh Oai has established 3 centers to introduce, display and sell OCOP products in Tam Hung, Phuong Trung and Bich Hoa communes. These centers are not only places for trading but also points connecting local products with the capital market, helping consumers recognize the Thanh Oai OCOP brand.

Some outstanding products such as Tan Uoc ham, Chuong village hats, and Boi Khe rice have gradually affirmed their position in the market and gained the trust of consumers. Director of Hoang Long Livestock Cooperative Nguyen Trong Long said: "After the product was recognized as OCOP, revenue increased from 15% to 25%, contributing significantly to increasing people's income."

Identifying OCOP as an important driving force in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas, in 2025, Thanh Oai aims to develop 5 to 10 more OCOP products that meet 3-star standards or higher, and at the same time build 1 to 2 more new product introduction centers. Notably, the district aims to take advantage of space in clusters and industrial parks that are being formed to arrange OCOP product display points, creating advantages in accessing consumer markets and workers.

Chairman of Thanh Oai District People's Committee Bui Van Sang emphasized: "Developing OCOP products is an important criterion in building a model new rural area. The district will continue to mobilize the participation of the entire political system, especially the initiative of the commune level; at the same time, step up propaganda, trade promotion and develop a system of displaying and introducing OCOP products in a more professional and systematic way."

Along with market promotion, Thanh Oai identifies the application of information technology and digital transformation in production, communication and consumption of OCOP products as an inevitable requirement. This is the basis for transparent product information, traceability, and expanding connections with domestic and foreign markets.

In addition to developing new products, the district also directed communes, towns and OCOP entities to review and prepare documents to re-evaluate OCOP products according to the 36-month cycle from the date of recognition. Many communes have registered new products such as: Chicken eggs (Lien Chau), dried pho, traditional wine (Thanh Mai), greenhouse cucumbers (Thanh Cao)... This is a positive signal in maintaining and expanding the list of local OCOP products.

Chairman of Thanh Oai District People's Committee Bui Van Sang noted: "In order for OCOP products to develop sustainably and have a firm foothold in the market, the subjects need to clearly understand the entire process from production, appraisal, quality control to building market strategies. In particular, craft village products need to have a distinctive image, with their own identity to create highlights and enhance competitiveness."

With a systematic and synchronous approach from product development to trade promotion, Thanh Oai district is gradually affirming the role of OCOP in rural economic development, increasing people's income and promoting the construction of new model rural areas. OCOP product introduction centers are not only places for trading but also "bridges" to bring local products closer to the capital and national markets.
