Implementing the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program associated with the development of trade, tourism and services, the City has promoted propaganda and mobilized business households and cooperatives to focus on developing production, bringing OCOP products into the supply chain; connecting, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products on e-commerce platforms...

As a locality with many unique and endemic products, OCOP is famous and is a top destination chosen by many tourists. To promote the production, promotion and consumption of OCOP products, the City focuses on promoting and mobilizing production entities to actively participate in the OCOP Program; stepping up trade promotion activities and product promotion, introducing on e-commerce sites; building OCOP product display and sales points; organizing fairs to promote, connect trade, connect supply and demand of OCOP products, etc.

To enhance the value of traditional products, Son Tong Banh Khao facility strives to maintain the year-round cake making profession to serve the market. Since the product was ranked 3-star OCOP, production activities have been favorable. Mr. Lam Thanh Quy, owner of Son Tong Banh Khao Facility, Song Hien Ward, said: If in the past, Banh Khao was only made to order during holidays and Tet, now it is produced all year round with an output of about 50,000 cakes/year. Thanks to building a brand, having a traceability code and the dedication of long-time professionals, the facility's Banh Khao is known in many places for its guaranteed quality. Currently, in addition to selling through traditional channels, the facility's products are sold and distributed on online channels: Banh Khao Cao Bang - Son Tong, Banhkhaosontongcaobang.com and are present in fairs introducing and promoting products in Hanoi and Cao Bang...

Along with Son Tong rice cakes, many OCOP products such as: sausages, smoked meat of Tam Hoa Cooperative, VietGAP strawberries of Truong Anh Agricultural Cooperative, Pi Pat sticky rice, various types of dried vermicelli of Ba Sach Hung Dao Agricultural Cooperative, Cao Bang shiitake mushrooms of Yen Cong Agricultural Cooperative, colored vermicelli (7 colors) of Cao Tuyen Company Limited, clean Cao Bang black grapes of CAB Green Technology Investment and Development Joint Stock Company... currently have large production scale, guaranteed quality, and a solid position in the market.

Mr. Lai Duc Thu, Director of Ba Sach Agricultural Cooperative, Hung Dao Commune, said: The unit is a joint unit in purchasing and consuming agricultural products for the people. The main distribution items of the Cooperative include: Pi Pat sticky rice, dong vermicelli, dried vermicelli, green beans, black beans, dried bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, Chinese sausage, smoked pork and biosafety livestock products. Up to now, most of the Cooperative's products have achieved 3-star OCOP at the provincial level. Of which, purple dried pho products have an output of 7 tons/year; dragon blood brown rice pho has an output of 10 tons/year; five-color pho, dried gac pho have an output of 16 tons/year; red peanuts have an output of 11.2 tons/year and soybeans have an output of 7 tons/year. To expand the consumption market, the Cooperative actively participates in many trade promotion programs in provinces and cities. The products of the Cooperative are available in major supermarkets such as Winmart, Mega Mart, etc. and are introduced and sold on e-commerce platforms Postmart, Shopee, Lazada. Through use, the majority of consumers highly appreciate the Cooperative's products because of their guaranteed quality, safety for health, and reasonable prices.

After 4 years of efforts to implement the OCOP Program, up to now, the City has 3 products achieving 4 stars, 40 products achieving 3 stars from 16 entities including enterprises, cooperatives, and business households. OCOP products focus on the main groups: fresh agricultural products and processed agricultural products, fresh fruits, and beverages; over 95% of OCOP products are affixed with electronic stamps or have codes and barcodes. Since being recognized as OCOP products, entities have been proactive in production, seeking opportunities to expand the market, constantly improving the quality and enhancing the value of products according to regulations; innovating in the form, design, packaging, labels, and product labels according to regulations. Strengthening product promotion at fairs and e-commerce platforms; bringing products to agents, distributors, stores, and supermarkets to serve consumers.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hue Chi said: Implementing the OCOP Program for the period 2023 - 2025, the City continues to focus on directing surveys, supporting the development of new products and upgrading existing products; completing, upgrading, and standardizing products to ensure compliance with regulations according to the set of criteria for evaluating and classifying OCOP products as prescribed by the Prime Minister. In 2024, the City will continue to support the standardization of documents for 16 products of 10 entities and re-evaluate 10 products of 4 entities recognized in 2021. From now until the end of the year, the City will proactively coordinate with departments, branches, and sectors of the province and localities interested in introducing, promoting, and displaying OCOP products at programs and events inside and outside the province. Accompanying entities to support product introduction to supermarket systems, stores and arranging stalls for OCOP products at agricultural markets in the area.

Actively coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to study the current situation and propose orientations and solutions for developing local accommodation tourism (homestay), farm accommodation (farmstay), creating spaces and images to introduce and attract tourists to visit and experience... Build booths to introduce and connect to promote products at central urban locations such as: Kim Dong walking street, large supermarkets, convenience stores, agricultural markets; bring products to consumption in accommodation tourism types such as: homestay, farmstay, restaurant systems, hotels, create spaces, images, and introductions to attract tourists. Continue to promote and advertise tourism associated with introducing products on e-commerce sites. Review and evaluate potential products to have a plan to support entities to expand large-scale production to meet quantity and quality requirements, attract investment to develop sustainable OCOP products.
