Singers and actors leave a lasting impression on the public
People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (singer, actress Thanh Thuy) was born into a family with a rich revolutionary tradition in Tra Vinh province.
In 1994, singer Thanh Thuy worked at the Military Region 7 Art Troupe and in that year Thanh Thuy won first prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest. Three years later, Thanh Thuy continued to win first prize in the National Television Singing Contest.
People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy is currently Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City.

Considered a typical singer of traditional revolutionary music, many songs performed by Thanh Thuy are loved by a large audience such as: Visiting Uncle Ho's mausoleum, The South remembers forever the grace of the person, Very close to Truong Sa, Spring in the war zone, Anh Ba Hung, The person is the belief of certain victory ... In particular, the song "Be grateful to sister Vo Thi Sau" by author Nguyen Duc Toan brought Thanh Thuy to cinema through her first role as the hero Vo Thi Sau in the film "Nguoi con gai dat do" (directed by Le Dan). The role of Vo Thi Sau helped Thanh Thuy leave a deep impression in the hearts of the public.
Thanh Thuy performs for soldiers on remote islands
After this role, Thanh Thuy was continuously invited to participate in many films, including the role of Le Mai (a Vietnamese girl of Chinese origin) in the TV series Dat Khach . The main song in the film Tren menh dat tinh nguoi by musician Tran Long An, performed by singer Thanh Thuy herself, was loved by many people. Thanh Thuy also affirmed her acting ability through the two characters Ngoc Lan and Ngoc Hoa in the TV series Mat buom by director Pham Ngoc Chau.
Along with her artistic activities (singing, acting), Thanh Thuy also strived to study and practice at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City and graduated with honors as a director. At the 2nd National Professional Singing and Dancing Competition - 2015 organized by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the art program Khuc Truong Ca Mien Dong directed by Thanh Thuy left many strong impressions and emotions on everyone. This art program won the national gold medal and the award for excellent art direction for Thanh Thuy.
Accompanying soldiers on remote frontiers
Singer Thanh Thuy is a delegate of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 8 (2011 - 2016), term 9 (2016 - 2021). As a delegate of the People's Council, Thanh Thuy has made many practical contributions to the youth, artists as well as the diverse development of the city named after Uncle Ho.
In 2011, Thanh Thuy assumed the position of Deputy Head of the Military Region 7 Art Troupe. With outstanding achievements in artistic activities, in 2012, singer and actress Thanh Thuy was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
In 2019, Thanh Thuy went to Truong Sa island to visit soldiers.
On November 27, 2017, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision to appoint Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy as Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports. Since the end of November 2017, although busy with management work at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Meritorious Artist Thanh Thuy still has many long trips to perform for soldiers at the border and islands.
Over 25 years as a singer, actress, and director, Thanh Thuy has also accompanied soldiers in remote frontiers. Thanh Thuy has visited and performed for soldiers in Truong Sa at least 10 times, and each trip has left a deep impression of the military-civilian relationship.

I will never give up the traditional revolutionary music that I love. That music is like a hot blood that always flows. Every time I sing and perform for the soldiers, I feel more and more that I am surrounded by my dear comrades. Now, participating in state management - the cultural field in the city named after Uncle Ho, although I am very busy, I still try to arrange time to participate in trips to visit soldiers and soldiers on remote islands.
