At the full month ceremony, the two tiger cubs also had their cake cut.
The ceremony surprised many visitors and they waited in front of the cage to welcome the moment the mother tiger brought her cub out.
Two Bengal tiger cubs were born on May 13, 2023 at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden. They were named Binh and Duong, in recognition of the support of the Binh Duong Provincial Forest Protection Department in donating four tigers to Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden, including the mother tiger.
The two Bengal tigers were named Binh and Duong.
According to Mr. Pham Van Tan, Director of Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden Company Limited, in 2014, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden successfully bred 5 Indochinese tigers and 4 Bengal tigers in captivity.
In 2015, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden continued to successfully breed 2 white Bengal tigers and on May 13, 2023, 2 more Bengal tiger cubs were born.
Mother tiger bites her cub's neck and takes it out at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden.
"When we determined that the tigress was pregnant, we installed a camera system inside and outside the playground, checked the safety of the cage, the lighting system, the intervention plan when the tiger gave birth, and were very lucky when the mother tiger gave birth to 2 cubs without any human intervention. Through the camera system, we monitored the health of the 3 Bengal tiger mothers and cubs. Although it was her first time giving birth, the mother tiger took very good care of her cubs," Mr. Tan shared.
The organizers cut the cake at the full month ceremony of two tiger cubs at the Zoo.
Currently, the total number of tigers being cared for here is 13. Including 3 white tigers, 2 Indochinese tigers and 8 Bengal tigers.
