The program brings together many leading experts and scholars in the fields of archaeology, history, fine arts, folklore, along with directors, filmmakers, media and art, opening a forum for multi-dimensional dialogue between academic research and contemporary artistic thinking.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, General Director and Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Nguyen Kim Khiem emphasized: Our country Vietnam has a proud history and culture with many interesting and fascinating stories. The seminar is an important first step, laying the intellectual foundation for the journey of creating historical and cultural cinematographic works. Previously, for many years, stories about Vietnamese history and culture were often conveyed to generations through quite pedagogical forms.
In the context of developing life, along with the impact of technology and modern equipment, historical and cultural stories need to be brought to the public in a more natural, memorable and attractive way. That is also the responsibility of press, media and cultural agencies..., to arouse values and pride in national history and culture.
Based on the above awareness, Hanoi Radio and Television Station has implemented a project to exploit and inspire folk values through the language of cinema.

According to Mr. Nguyen Kim Khiem, the film project “Huyen Tinh Da Trach” is not simply a film but also focuses on emphasizing cultural values, stories about tragic history. When making this project, Hanoi Radio and Television Station hopes to spread information, convey cultural values in line with modern breathing with new thinking and media technology.
Although it is a work of cinematic art, to ensure the authenticity of the context and space of the nation's founding period associated with cultural, historical, daily life, customs, practices, costumes and folk performing arts, Hanoi Radio and Television has implemented the special film project "The Legend of Da Trach" in a systematic and scientific manner with the talk show "The Legend of Da Trach - From national epic to cinematic language".

In the introductory report of the discussion, Professor, Doctor of Science, People's Teacher Vu Minh Giang (Chairman of the Science and Training Council - Hanoi National University, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Science Association; Member of the National Cultural Heritage Council) raised content issues focusing on academic topics of history, archaeology, folklore, fine arts, etc.
This is an important knowledge base and reference for the process of building the context, script and cultural materials in the film project, at the same time creating a comprehensive cognitive foundation for the legendary love between Chu Dong Tu and Tien Dung. Folk tales, cultural symbols and historical perspectives will be examined from many perspectives: from research, cultural studies to fine arts, helping to clarify the depth of the characters and context of the Hung King era.
The dissemination of historical and cultural values through many art forms, including cinema, has been a concern for many years, not only for me but also for many experts and culturalists. Vietnam has an extremely large, rich and diverse cultural treasure. However, in recent years, it seems that we have talked a lot about values without pointing out how to exploit them. Culture is not something to be admired or praised, but must be a resource for us to bring into life, creating strength based on its meaning.
Professor, Doctor of Science, People's Teacher Vu Minh Giang
At the seminar, many scholars and researchers such as Associate Professor, Doctor Dang Hong Son; Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Van Quan; Associate Professor, Doctor Bui Minh Tri; Doctor Pham Duc Anh, Doctor Nguyen Viet had important presentations and exchanges of opinions contributing to the outline of the organization of architectural space, ancient villages, material cultural space of the Hung King period, Lac Viet symbols in visual arts, costumes, and decorations; the role of women in legends and society of the Hung King period, on class equality, on the process of formation of the Van Lang nation; the perception between history and legend.

In addition to opening up an academic perspective, the seminar also arouses the creative potential from legendary materials and folk beliefs, providing an opportunity for filmmakers, artists and content creators to find inspiration, ideas and valuable sources of material for the special film project "Huyền tình Dạ Trạch".
With the seminar “The Legend of Da Trach - From National Epic to Cinematic Language”, Hanoi Radio and Television is one of the units that has demonstrated its pioneering role in approaching heritage with modern artistic language, both preserving traditional values and creating a widespread influence in society. The seminar also contributed to affirming the orientation of building the capital's cultural industry, connecting heritage with the public and contemporary audiences.
