Attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of several departments and agencies, and relevant businesses.

From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the construction materials market in the province has experienced significant fluctuations, especially the sharp price increase since the beginning of March 2026. Specifically, the group of mined materials (sand, stone) recorded price increases from 15 to 32%; the group of industrial materials (asphalt, concrete bricks, tunnel bricks, construction steel) increased from 8 to 39%; cement was the only item that remained stable with a fluctuation of about 1%. According to assessments, many material groups have higher prices compared to neighboring localities, and this price increase poses a risk of exceeding the total investment budget in many projects.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to stabilize the market and lower the cost of construction materials in the area, such as: expanding supply sources and accelerating the licensing process for mines in the area; investors reviewing and prioritizing the use of alternative materials and readily available materials, ensuring economic efficiency, compliance with technical standards and regulations, and design solutions.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments and agencies review the planning and mineral resources throughout the province; advise the Provincial People's Committee on concentrated mining areas to meet the province's construction needs in the coming time. He also urged continued efforts to streamline administrative procedures; prioritize attracting capable enterprises to invest in mining; and strengthen market management of construction materials. Businesses need to make a strong shift in mindset, thereby modernizing processes, reducing production costs, and ensuring output meets market demand. Furthermore, he called for strengthening measures to reduce costs and increase supply to meet market demand and the needs of key projects being implemented in the province.
